Genesis of the end

Gecko grumbled, trudging through the dense jungle. He was exhausted after finally putting out a massive fire—a fire he'd accidentally started. "Aww, man, this is so freaking lame," he muttered to himself. "I barely put it out. If I was even a second late, Yano and Rico would kill me! Those bastards..."

Just as he spoke the words, a blur of motion erupted from the undergrowth. Rico sprang out of a bush, and a high-pitched scream of pure instinct ripped from Gecko's throat.

"WHAT'S THE MATTER WITH YOU, YOU FUCKING FREAK?" Gecko shouted, clutching his chest.

Rico doubled over, clutching his stomach from laughter. "You should've seen your face! You looked so helpless! Oh man, I can't stop laughing!" He even started tearing up a little, wiping a tear from his eye with his knuckles.

"THAT'S NOT FUNNY, DUDE. I'M GOING TO KILL YA!" Gecko snapped.

"Eh, that's pointless, you know? I'm just gonna win lik—" Before Rico could finish, Gecko lunged forward, a haymaker aimed at his head. But Rico effortlessly snatched his fist from the air. He then twisted Gecko's arm and threw him to the side as if he weighed nothing.

"Hurry up, I ain't got all day, you know?" Rico said with a bored yawn.

Gecko scrambled to his feet, holding his right hand up like a pistol.

FIRE BULLETS

Four glowing orbs shot from his index finger. Rico dodged three of them with a smirk, but the fourth struck his forearm with a flash of light and a hiss of steam. It wasn't lethal, but it definitely hurts.

Gecko saw his chance and rushed in, pummeling Rico with a flurry of punches. "YOU GODDAMNED FREAK. ALWAYS BELITTLING ME LIKE I'M A FUCKING KID!" He went for a final blow to the stomach, but suddenly, an unnatural hole appeared in Rico's abdomen. A coiled snake shot out, its fangs sinking into Gecko's fist.

Gecko fell to the ground, screaming from the searing pain.

"WHAT'S THE MATTER WITH YOU! ALWAYS RELYING ON THOSE FUCKING SNAKES OF YOURS. I WOULD'VE KILLED YOU IF YOU WEREN'T SUCH A COWARD!" Gecko said,"Oh, calm down," Rico laughed softly, his wound already closing. "You can always try again, you know? But every time you do, I'll win." He knelt down and looked into Gecko's eyes. "But you're still conscious, huh? Which means the fight ain't over yet"

Rico rushed in to deliver the final blow. Gecko struggled, his body shaking from the pain, as he slowly got to his feet. "Oh, damn you to hell, you fucking excuse of a human," he muttered, just managing to dodge Rico's strike.

"Come on, give up already. You KNOW I'll win," Rico sneered.

Gecko charged towards Rico, and Rico charged towards Gecko. Their fists closed in, ready to clash with all their might. But just as the impact was about to begin, both of them froze, unable to move a single muscle.
