Chapter 1: Life & Death Explanations

He sits there with his sight consumed by darkness, the sound of the rolling steel and gentle but abrupt rocking to and fro vibrates throughout his body. “Click-Click Click-Clack”. Slowly his eyes open and are meet by the gaze of a fading sun as it shines through the train car window. The train is empty but still full of the noise that of the rolling steel. “Click-Click Click-Clack”. He blinks just once as he gazes out at the passing city. “Death” Hezior starts as the image of the memory is replaced by that of the council.

“Death comes in many different forms and its timing is as unpredictable as a mosquito bite on a cold winter day. Yeah it can happen but who knows when. Sometimes there are those whom try to pursue death and in pursuing it they’ve come across a number of failed attempts and scars that dig deep with pain and agony that they continue to live their lives with. There are others who are just unlucky accidents or just caught in lifestyles that jeopardize their overall well-being.

Life in contrast would have been then thought of as a more fulfilling event to partake in, but let us not be fooled for those who do not know Living Isn’t Fun Everyday and that’s as simple as it gets. There’s so much things in life that damages ones soul, body, spirit and mental on the daily basis that life seems just as bitter as death. Except those endorphin packed memories of pure bliss and pleasure. Those moments and experiences that we go through and proudly proclaim ‘This is the reason for living!’. As excited as we get we crash downward into depression and sorrow with just the same force of energy to the point where our psychological state effects our physical being. As we become sluggish with our movements, facial and bodily expressions showing signs of distress. This is only scratching the surfaces, many people are plagued by illness of the mind or body and some stuck in social constructs that essentially make them a sharecroppers slave.

What does this all mean you’re probably wondering, well nothing if you don’t already understand. It’s just some jumbled thoughts of an old man worn down by a lifetime of working. Striving to survive in a world where you lived to die, my story isn’t anything special or unique but under the circumstances I am required to recollate them as best as I can, so please excuse me if some memories are more brief than others. Time has done its job to this old body and mind. To start off I do not know my actual age but my mind tells me I have lived long past my time, as for my name I have many but what I was given at birth was Hezior Finit Desimon.

I’m sorry a moment of silence filled my mind ;… My…My most vivid memory I have was the sensation I felt as I was dying, it’s something I don’t think I’ll ever forget. There was a pull and a push, I felt this throughout my body on every nerve ending and then suddenly I could no longer feel my body. I wasn’t numb which my mind pondered weird, it was like all my muscles were so relaxed I could no longer feel them. My ears rang and began to pick up every sound in the room, yet one sound persisted over all others. “Daddy!” it called out. “Don’t leave me, you’re fading far!” it continued on endlessly in a sobbing tone. I hadn’t enough control to know who or where it came from but now I am sure that it was my son. Although my eyes were swollen shut I could see something but I still cannot describe it in words, but it felt like I was seeing out of every pore in my body. The images flooded my blinded vision. Then there came a feeling of heat and my body began to burn as if I had been consumed by the fires of hell, still the pulling and pushing continued increasing in speed and force until my consciousness appeared here before you and I have been commanded by you spiritual beings to tell you of my life. Haha, I’m sorry to laugh but I don’t remember my life flashing before my eyes during my final moments and I’m known by some for not having the best memory.”
