This was an intriguingly complex story with characters that had realistic strengths and weaknesses, and it had plenty of dark romance, action, and adventure. I'm not familiar with German culture, but it didn't affect my enjoyment one bit. Thank you for creating such a good book."

Great Book
"As a German who was born and raised in Berlin, this book was a huge surprise for me in a positive sense. Normally, fantasy stories are either set in other worlds or have an American connection. It was refreshing to read something different, with places I know only too well myself. I had to smile a little at the political parties, especially since I would definitely believe them capable of making those decisions. Using Berlin's "Unterwelten" as a setting was also very clever. The only thing that bothered me a little was the main character's constant ambivalence. She wanted to be involved in everything, but then broke every agreement and constantly blamed someone else. I understood that at the beginning, but in the end it became a little tiresome. All in all, though, it's a great book and I would definitely read more by this author in the future. The worldbuilding and plot were great."

"He is attracted at first sight, so he takes her - and she absolutely does not want to be attracted back. This is a story of Stockholm syndrome, finding loyalties and wrestling with messy, unpleasant, inconvenient truths. There are no perfect answers and all options involve bloodshed. I really enjoyed this story. The way the dirty talk conversations played out and the emotional angst built and moved really appealed to me. This is a long story. There is a story line around linguistics and there are alien words used throughout. While they are all explained the first time they are used, sometimes I had to go back and double check I had remembered correctly. 🎥 single perspective - hers 🤬 Infrequent swearing. (German and English) 🔪 graphic violence. Unapologetic torture and maiming. 💋 graphic sex scenes. Including depictions of alien bodies. 🔚 The ending is abrupt and there are some elements of the story unresolved. I would love to see a sequel. "

Loved it so much I read is twice in 4 days
"I love this story. I read it in 2 days even though it is pretty long because I enjoyed it so much and kept wanting to know what was happening next. When I finished I immediately turned around and read it again. At some points the story feels like it is meandering but tbh I don’t mind this at all - the story still has purpose and these moments are usually developing characters or lining up plot points for later. I was so immersed in the world that I thoroughly enjoyed this extra space to explore. If you are into quick fiction that gets straight to the point then this might feel long but if you are like me and like long epic stories where the world is rich and deep then this is for you. The author has even given words in Veril - as someone who learned LOTR elvish as a teenager this definitely drew me in 😂 Overall, fantastic and I would read a whole series of this, please! And I would happily buy it if it was on Amazon!"

"This book brought me into a whole new world of fantasy mixed with reality. Author's imagination and the efforts she has put into this is really amazing. Even the little deatils described in the book has so much value in them, not to mention the Veril language she created just for this. I really hope there will be a sequel for this amazing work."
