Entry 1

Some weird things have been happening to the family lately. Alice is refusing to take her medication again. She normally does this, but she’s not usually this hostile. Past the part where she’s threatening to murder us all, she continuously takes her anger out by fucking my father. Papa’s lost his backbone; he used to put his foot down all the time when it came to my mother and her medicine, but now he’s tired, drained mostly.
I wish it were like it was, Eliza going off to school, and my parents not fighting all the time. Now everything’s changed. Austin and Aunt Lanetta come over more often, mostly together when it’s only my mother. I know my father’s not having an affair, but I don’t know about Aunt Lanetta. I know that Austin beats her, it’s obvious by the eye bags and the bruises all over her, and I know those aren’t hickies.
Speaking of hickies, Eliza keeps coming home with them, specifically below her collarbone. Luckily for her, it’s getting colder, turtlenecks aren’t really in fashion anymore, but she tries to make it work. But I’m yapping too much right now; there are bigger fish to fry. Austin Harbinger. He’s a special bitch, I’ll give him that. Disguising his psychopathy with the guise of being a manic like his sister.
Yes, he is a maniac, but he’s not some bipolar manic. There’s something deeper going on. His love for my mother isn’t just some innocent, “I’m your big brother, I’ve got you,” situation. I’ve never been warned about his behavior before, especially not by Ódio. He’s doing something, something bad, and I have a feeling my father’s the first victim of whatever evil dispute this man is going to put.
I’m going to watch him more closely, vigilantly. Maybe that way, my mother can be warned before something bad happens. Despite my indifference to my family’s well-being, I don’t think I could bear the thought of them dead. At least some of them.
