Chapter 1

Rooh’s POV :

It was late afternoon. I sat by the balcony of my room, staring up at the sky. Shades of orange and pink were splashed across it, like an unfinished painting. I found myself wondering—what next?

A voice broke through my thoughts.

“Rooh!” It was Mum calling me from downstairs.

I stood up slowly and walked down. There they were—my whole family, gathered around the dining table. Laughing, chatting, passing plates. For a moment, I just stood there, watching them. Then I joined in, quietly, picking up a plate and sitting down to eat.

It’s been a few days since I woke up in the hospital—to find out I had been in a coma for three years.

I remember opening my eyes to the sound of hurried footsteps and hushed gasps. Faces rushed into the room, lighting up with joy. But it was Mum who stood out the most. She came to me slowly, then suddenly wrapped her arms around me.

She was crying. Her tears fell on my skin—warm, real.

And that’s when it hit me: I had come back. But the world around me had kept moving.
