Magic Touch
Olamide, a beautiful and vibrant woman with an air of femininity and the talk of the town, had just recently gotten a job as a Lawyer at a top Law firm in Lagos. She graduated with First Class Honors from the University of Ibadan, and she won numerous awards from Law School.
Olamide prepared for her first day of work, and she made sure she came slaying. Pairing a short black skirt, white dress shirt, and a black jacket with her high heels and a sweet perfume to complement her looks.
"Olamide, you got this girl," Olamide said to herself in the mirror.
As Olamide stepped out to the office, she got a call.
"Olamide, please listen to me, I am sorry about how things ended between us, I need you back in my life," the caller said.
"Femi! listen to me and listen really good, it is over between us, I mean you cheated on me with my childhood friend, who I thought was my even my friend in the first place, I mean, who does that?" Olamide said.
"Oh my God! Must you always bring that up?" Femi said.
"Look, I am going to work and I need peace, don't call me again," Olamide said, shouting.
Olamide walked over to get her Uber, which was waiting patiently for her.
"Ah! Big Madam Olamide," The Uber Driver said as he opened the car door for her.
"How are you, Musa?" Olamide replied, laughing.
"I dey alright, Big Madam," Musa said as he started the car.
Musa drove Olamide to her office, and she could not help but wonder how far she had gone in her professional career.
"Thank you, Musa, please remember to be here by 5 pm, okay?" Olamide said.
"No problem, Big Madam," Musa said and drove off.
Olamide headed into the office with grace and confidence.
"Good morning, ma, Mr. Olanrewaju wants to see you in his office," Olamide's secretary told her.
"Okay, thank you," Olamide replied.
Olamide walked over to Olanrewaju's office and knocked on his door.
"Yes, come in," he said
"You wanted to see me, sir," Olamide said.
"Yes, Olamide, my Super Star Lawyer, resuming on her first day, please sit down," Olanrewaju said.
"Thank you, sir," Olamide said as she sat down.
"You were personally handpicked from Law School after we saw how well you performed, so we expect nothing but the best from you, Olamide," Olanrewaju said.
"I will do my very best, sir," Olamide replied.
"You may leave," Olanrewaju said as he started looking through some documents on his table.
Olamide walked to her office and settled down to start working when her secretary walked in.
"Excuse me, a client called Mr. Kolawole wants to see you," The Secretary said.
"Okay, please send him in," Olamide replied.
A tall, handsome man with chocolate skin and a well-built body walked into her office, and Olamide felt herself melting inside when she saw him.
"Good morning, Miss Olamide," Kolawole said.
"Oh, good morning, Mr. Kolawole, please sit down," Olamide said shyly.
"So what can I do for you today, Mr. Kolawole?" Olamide said.
"A couple of days ago, my software company onboarded two key software engineers, and apparently, they built a program with code that was not supposed to be used, and now they resigned from my firm with the code that they stole from me, making me seem like a complete idiot" Kolawole said.
"So you want me to defend your case and sue them, I suppose," Olamide said.
"Precisely right, Olamide," Kolawole replied.
"Okay, so before we begin, we need to invite them to our office, and when they bring their Lawyer, we can begin the process, is that okay with you?" Olamide said.
"Sounds like a plan," Kolawole said.
"So I will draw up the necessary paperwork and begin the process immediately," Olamide said.
"So when will the trial begin?" Kolawole asked.
"By Friday, we should start," Olamide replied.
"See you on Friday, then," Kolawole said.
Kolawole gave Olamide all the necessary details she needed to start the process.
Kolawole left Olamide's office, and as he left, she was captivated by the presence of her client, who had an air of mystery about him.
"I will be going home now, Itunu, don't forget to send that email to the company, okay?" Olamide told her secretary.
"Ah! Big Madam, I have dey here since" Musa said as he opened the door for her.
"Thank you, Musa," Olamide replied.
Olamide got home and she began to remember all the details of her client who stepped into her office today. Kolawole seemed like a typical alpha male with all his charisma and handsome features.
On Friday, Olamide got to her office and she found out that the meeting with the rival software firm was about to start, with all the parties seated in the meeting room.
"Sorry, I am late, traffic was tough today," Olamide said as she sat down next to Kolawole.
"So my client, Mr Kolawole, said you two stole his code and built a rival software firm, am I right?" Olamide said.
"Yes, but that code is ours, we worked on it together and made so many tweaks," One of the engineers said.
"Just say you stole my code, Bidemi, you had no right to do that," Kolawole said.
"With all due respect, Kolawole, we never stole that code; it is ours," Bidemi replied.
"Okay, that is enough. Apparently, it seems we have a conflict of interest, so that needs to be addressed," Olamide said.
"Miss Olamide, our clients are ready to cooperate with you as long as we are assured that Mr. Kolawole will give us a fair hearing," Adebisi, who is the Lawyer for the rival firm, replied.
"Okay here is what we will do, so we can settle this matter out of court, your firm must cushion the damages that has fractured this relationship and my client, Mr. Kolawole should have at least 25 percent stake in the profit made by your firm, which in essence means that he would be added as one of your board of directors, is that okay?" Olamide said sternly.
"Okay, fine by us," Bidemi replied.
"So we will draw up the necessary paperwork, and your firm must ensure that you cooperate with my client," Olamide said.
Kolawole and Bidemi shook hands and left the meeting room.
"Itunu, please get my lunch for me, thank you," Olamide said as she entered her office.
There was a knock on her door, and Kolawole stepped in, and suddenly a rush of blood filled Olamide's heart again.
"Oh, Mr. Kolawole, I thought you left," Olamide said.
"I just came to say thank you, and I was also wondering if I could invite you for dinner tonight," Kolawole said.
"Okay....that kinda sounds like a date," Olamide said, laughing.
"It is actually," Kolawole said to her.
"Okay, great, then," Olamide said.
"See you at 7 pm," Kolawole said and left her office.
Olamide rested her head on her chair and just began to think of the handsome chocolate chocolate-skinned man who just walked into her office.
"Hmmm, this man is going to kill me," Olamide said.
In the evening, Olamide got ready for her date with Kolawole. She wore a short black miniskirt that showed her legs with a white blouse and high heels to match.
"Olamide, you are stunning," Olamide said as she admired herself in the mirror.
Olamide's phone began to ring, and it was Kolawole on the line.
"I am waiting for you downstairs," Kolawole said.
"Be there in 5 minutes," Olamide said as the call dropped.
Olamide left her house and walked over to the car park to see a stunning Gentleman in an expensive suit with all his handsome curves and chiseled face.
"You look stunning, Olamide," Kolawole said.
"And you as well," Olamide replied.
They talked for hours at dinner, and Kolawole could not keep his eyes off Olamide for a second.
"How come a hot babe like you is still single?" Kolawole asked.
"I broke up with my supposed boyfriend last month, and I stayed single to find the man of my dreams," Olamide said, taking a bite of chicken.
"Well, good luck to your ex," Kolawole said confidently.
They left the restaurant, and Kolawole drove Olamide to her house.
"Dinner was nice today, thank you," Olamide said.
"My pleasure," Kolawole said.
As Olamide was about stepping out, Kolawole touched her hands, and she looked at him with a distant gaze as they pulled closer to each other and started kissing passionately.
Kolawole slid his hands on Olamide's long legs as he got closer to her skirt, pulling it up a little bit. They kissed for some minutes with hot passion and hunger.
"Wow!" Olamide said.
"Hmm...you are sweet, Olamide," Kolawole said.
"Kiss me like that again, and I would have pulled all my clothes off in the car," Olamide said.
Olamide got out of the car and walked to her door, looking back as Kolawole waved and left the driveway.
The next morning, Olamide got up from her bed and began to recollect the slow, passionate kiss that she shared with Kolawole.
"Omo, that man carry sha," Olamide said to herself.
Olamide got out her laptop and started looking through her email when she noticed an email from a client asking for a meeting on Monday concerning a case with her current employer.
Olamide sent a reply and agreed they meet on Monday for the meeting.
The following Monday, Olamide got to the office, and a woman in her 20s came into her office.
"I suppose you are Miss. Eniola" Olamide said, shaking her hands.
"Yes, I am Miss Olamide," Eniola replied.
"So what can I do for you?" Olamide asked.
"My boss sexually harasses me in the office, he touches my body in an inappropriate place, and it makes me extremely uncomfortable," Eniola began.
"Okay, so please tell me his name," Olamide asked.
"His name is Mr. Kolawole," Eniola replied.
At that moment, Olamide's heart sank.
"Wait, is his name Kolawole Davids?" Olamide asked.
"Yes, ma," Eniola replied, almost crying.
"Give me one minute," Olamide said.
Olamide picked up her phone and called Kolawole.
"Hello," Kolawole said as he picked up the line.
"You evil bastard," Olamide said angrily.
"Woah, hold on, what is the matter?" Kolawole replied.
"So you sexually harass your staff and you have the courage to kiss me," Olamide said angrily.
"I don't understand, where is this coming from?" Kolawole replied.
"Your employee, Eniola, is in my office crying her eyes out, saying that you sexually harassed her in the office," Olamide said with an angry tone in her voice.
"I will be in your office by 9 am," Kolawole said as he dropped the call.
Olamide dropped the phone on her table angrily and started sympathizing with Eniola.
"I am so sorry for what happened, The bastard is coming in by 9 am, let's see what we can do, okay?" Olamide said.
"Thank you, ma," Eniola replied.
Kolawole stepped into Olamide's office and saw Eniola sitting on the sofa.
"So you dare step into my lawyer's office to tell lies against me, Eniola, even when I told you that I do not date my co-workers," Kolawole began fuming.
"It's a lie, you sexually harassed me," Eniola said.
"Listen, Olamide, this woman is lying against me; she came into my office and tried to seduce me, and when I refused, she became obsessed and started lying against me," Kolawole said.
Olamide, looking confused, turned to Eniola.
"Is this true?" Olamide asked.
Eniola was quiet for a second and nodded her head, feeling very embarrassed.
"Yes, ma," Eniola replied.
Olamide kept quiet for a second and looked at Kolawole for a minute.
"We will file a defamation lawsuit against Eniola and follow up from there," Olamide said.
"Fine by me," Kolawole said and left the office.
Eniola, also in shame, walked quietly out of the office.
"This job......." Olamide thought to herself.
