Unreasonably Fired.

- Hana -

Again. Being scorned—Just because I was asian and beautiful in the States. According to them...

And it’s not even because of my origin, but because I was the prettiest lady in the office. Damn them.

“What do you think? Did she screw her way up by banging that old geezer?”

They whispered like I was deaf, but damn, I heard every damn word. Not even trying to be discreet. I thought, just once, in my fucked up life, I would get a peaceful morning.

I guess Hana Greene didn’t have such leisure time.

Instead, I was on my knees, gathering the files they knocked out of my arms while they snickered like mean little hyenas. Pathetic, right?

I sneered to myself. If only that “old geezer” they kept thrashing would stroll in right now—

I stood, eyes flashing cold. “Since you have so much to say, should I climb into his bed again and have him fire you?”

They both gasped.

“She—You—” She stammered, but I was already strutting off, not giving her the time and day for a fight.

They hated me the moment I got promoted from a lowly employee to assistant manager. But after that sudden raise? They became bloated with hostility and spite.

I plopped into my chair with a deep pout, massaging my temples.

Hell, I’d be suspicious too. The smiley old buffoon of a manager handed me a raise and a new title out of nowhere. His intentions were as clear as day. Anyone could see that.

He wanted to be in my pants, just like the gossips said—but he never got the chance.

And now? He was stuck with me in this role, he can’t just fire me so he can only live his days in regret for the foolishness he had done.

He wasn’t too wise I must say, I had won eveything, yet he won himself nothing. Yet he was the manager?

I slumped forward onto my desk with a bitter scoff, feeling those jealous, spiteful eyes burning holes in my back. Yeah, it was irritating—but at this point? I was numb to it.

Still... If someone or a new job offered me a way out of this mess?? I’d kiss the feet of the very opportunity, even if it meant the devil itself!

Hell, I was practically begging for it.

Yet I didn’t know I was digging my own grave.

“Hana Greene.” A loud grumpy call echoed in the office, and I was up on my feet the very next second.

Woah. Talk about the devil.

The “Old Geezer” gazed at me with a chilly look as he stepped into his office, which was a clear signal for me to enter, so I quickly gathered some files into my hand and rushed into the office.

Ignoring the loathing gazes they threw at me.

“Good morning, manager. These are the files you asked me to review last night.” I told him after walking into the office, closing the door behind me.

I dropped the files on the table and straightened my back.

But I noticed something off.

His eyes narrowed, and he leaned back in the chair. “You hate this job, don't you?” The question came as a jolt.

I widened my eyes in surprise. Was he a psychic? But I signed knowing I shouldn't easily agree to his words.

“No, I don't,” I replied to him in a clipped tone, and he pressed his lips into a thin line, assessing me with his eyes.

Unlike he usually did in the past, always leering at me.

But I was honest, I didn't hate the job, I hate the people in the job. It was a good thing being assistant manager, I had some free time, more work ,but lots of work at home opportunities.

So I really didn't hate the job.

Then all of a sudden, I felt nervous, I clenched my hand around my skirt, feeling a sudden dread overwhelm me.

I had never seen the manager look at me this seriously before. Hope it was not what I was thinking—

“You are fired.”

“What?” I gasped, blurting out the words in surprise.

The manager continued checking the files without even sparing me another glance as if he didn't just dismiss me with no particular reason.

“And may I know why I am suddenly getting fired?”

Did he finally decide to toss me out since I wasn't flashing my pussy at him?

His expression turned to one of irritation when he suddenly slammed his hand against the desk, loudly.

Loud enough to grab the attention of the others at the office. Since the glass was transparent, everyone could see what was going on.

And that did not sit well with me.

“Who did you offend, Hana?” He asked, and I furrowed my brows, confused.

There was some emotion in his eyes as soon as he said that, as if he was feeling sad for me.

Or was it just an illusion?

“What do you mean, I don't understand.” I truly didn't, I felt a headache knocking against my head as I stood there. With each passing second, the manager and I were on a stare-down.

My clenched fist was trembling at the side, but in anger and sadness. My breathing turned hard as I tried to restrain myself from crying.

He looked away, noticing I wasn't going to give up until I knew the truth, his expression softened, and he sighed in exasperation.

Before taking out a card from his breast pocket.

What the hell was going on right now?

He then handed it to me, and I took it quite urgently. The card felt hot in my hands, and I looked at it just once before looking back at the manager.

“Find the CEO of this company, and you will get your answer.” He said, his tone flat, but I could feel the small concern in it.

I looked at the card again, and my eyes bulged.

Molkov Industries.

What the fuck?

“How am I supposed to meet a person who had never even shown his face in the business world before?!” I snapped in anger and irritation that I didn't realise I was shouting at the top of my lungs.

“The Elusive CEO that no one has ever seen, that every woman fears?!”

“Are you raising your voice at me, young lady?” He asked in a grim tone.

And I pressed my lips into a thin line.

“Clear your office.” He added and turned silent.

There was something I was missing, but I couldn't place a hand on it.

I parted my lips to say more, but I clamped them shut the next second before storming out of his disgusting office and slamming the door.

The Hyenas gathered at a corner, while whispering to themselves, but I didn't spare them a second glance before bringing out a box from my drawer and swerving every valuable on my desk into the box.

I deleted my personnel files from the computer, changed everything that belonged to me.

All in one hair's breath, and after I was done, I stood there, my heart drumming against my ears, breathing hard, while I fought the tears threatening to spill.

Don't cry, don't cry.

I chanted as I picked up the box and made my way out of the office.

But before I could make it out the door—

“Oh, if it isn't our little assistant manager. Wow, what's with the box? You got fired?”

“Oh, poor little thing.”

“Wait, I thought she was going to get into the manager's bed and have us all fired. What happened to that, Beijing?”

They sneered and laughed among themselves, taunting me.

My blood was already above its boiling point, so I slowly set my box on a nearby table and then faced them.

I wanted to say something, but remembering the last word one of the girls said, I raised my hand and slapped her.

Then the second girl....

And then the last girl.

I didn't wait for them to recollect their thoughts; I picked up the box and shoved past them, ignoring the burning pain in my palm.

It served them right, and it was so satisfying that it caused it lightened my heart.

So what if he fired me, I really wanted to go from the very beginning.

Even though I was fired, I could get a job anywhere else if I wanted to.

Easy peazy, at least that was what I thought.

I never imagined that after returning home that day, crying while snuggling my little kitten, Asher. That, I would be rejected by every office I came across.

Like a curse. Following me wherever I went. I had no choice but to look at that damn card.

“Molkov Industries.”

I already made a mental note in my head that I was not going to get accepted this time.

But....
