A Love Letter to Glitchy Guilds, Digital Chaos & Found Family 🖤

"Listen, I never played MMOs. Not one. Zip. Zero. Nada. But I did grow up in the chaotic holy lands of Baldur’s Gate and Neverwinter Nights, where the dice were virtual, the companions were a mess, and romance subplots had me emotionally compromised for weeks. So when I say this book grabbed me by the face and screamed “JOIN THE GUILD OR DIE LAUGHING,” I mean it in the most loving way possible. And reader? I joined. This story? It’s like someone shoved Scott Pilgrim, Ready Player One, and a Tumblr-era OTP slow burn into a blender, hit “chaos mode,” and served it with a side of group chat banter that felt alarmingly like my own internet friends. Alex is the hot mess protagonist of my heart. Broke, borderline burned out, and one login screen away from emotional collapse—but instead of spiraling, she builds a damn empire. Accidentally. In a clown-themed guild. In glitchy, cursed, digital California. And then there’s Cas-nova99, who I would absolutely trust to lead a raid and absolutely not trust alone in my DMs. (That’s a compliment.) The dialogue? Chef’s kiss. The pacing? Zooms like a rogue on too much stamina regen. The humor? Had me cackling out loud while my kids stared at me like I’d lost my final marble. And the characters? I’d kill for them. Die for them. Cry over them. Probably all three in a single chapter. I came for the escapism. I stayed for the found family, the slow-burn chaos, and the emotional gut punches I did NOT see coming but absolutely wanted more of. I don’t even like MMOs and yet I’m now irrationally angry that Clown Town isn’t a real guild I can join. This story is cozy chaos with emotional teeth. Five stars, a bucket of snacks, and a power cord for when your soul battery runs low. 🖤 Read it. Laugh. Feel seen. Log in."

So much FUN!

"This book had me constantly laughing. It was so much fun, and the characters felt like real people - one's I'd definitely want to be friends with. The author knows how to write humour and make it feel natural. This was so fresh and new for me, I've never read a book about gaming and I loved every part. Cas and Alex were two very different people and their POV's felt that way too. This story had a lot of heart along with the humour, the found family, especially near the end, had me rooting for them!! Would recommend if you want to laugh and have a great time!"

Not enough words to describe my love!

"This was by far the funnest book I have read in a long time! I loved every second binge reading this! My whole life I have been a gamer girl and even met my husband through a MMORPG. This book touched my heart and my funny bone. Made me nostalgic for my younger days when we all sat around the living room with laptops and headphones running raids. I can’t recommend this book enough! Thank you for nailing the world and us gamers so well!"

Funny and So Much Fun

"This story was So. Much. Fun! As a gamer of both RPG and MMO, I got a real kick out of it. The whole guild vibe was nostalgic. Every character was believable, enjoyable, lovable (except the ones you love to hate, of course 😉). I was laughing at every turn. I grew attached to every member of the guild as though they were in mine. The story has quite a few twists I didn't see coming. And they are all well defined. And everything was so descriptive in just the right way, with a balance of action and analogies. Reading this felt immersive, like we, the reader, are a member of the guild, there, observant, and seeing it all unfold. Chef's kiss."
