Author's POV
It was an ordinary morning in the Jung Mansion, but chaos had already broken out upstairs. A boy and a girl were locked in a fierce tug-of-war, each gripping the other’s hair, their eyes sparking with an intense rivalry.
??: "Let go of my hair!" she demanded, staring daggers at him.
??: "Why should I? You let go first!" he retorted, matching her glare with equal ferocity.
??: "First, you drink my banana milk, and now you're yanking on my hair? Let go, you bittergourd!" she shouted.
??: "What did you just call me?" he asked, a look of surprise mingling with annoyance.
??: "You heard me," she replied, folding her arms with a bored expression.
??: "Oh, really? If I'm bittergourd, then you're... you're a ladybug!" he shot back, his face full of mock anger.
??: "Ladybug?!" she shrieked, her voice rising even higher.
Their argument was in full swing, neither one backing down, when the door suddenly swung open, revealing her older brother.
Jhope's pov
I was sitting at the dining table, enjoying breakfast with Mom and Dad when Dad brought up business.
Dad: "So, how's the company going?" he asked, taking a bite.
Jhope: "It's going great, Dad. And Mr. Lee was really impressed with the presentation Sunshine gave yesterday."
Dad: "I knew she'd do well! After all, she's my princess," he said proudly.
Mom: "She gets it from me. My girl is as smart as they come," she added, smiling warmly.
Dad: "Correction, she's my princess," he countered, playfully glaring at Mom.
I could sense another one of their friendly spats starting, so I quickly intervened to lighten the mood.
Jhope: "Hey, hey, don't fight over her! You both know you can't steal my Sunshine away from me." I pouted dramatically, which made them both burst into laughter.
Mom: "Alright, alright. She's all yours, Hoseok," she said, chuckling.
Jhope: "Good, because she's my sunshine," I replied with a grin. "By the way, where is she?"
Mom: "She had breakfast already. She's up in her room with her friend-"
Her sentence was interrupted by a loud scream from upstairs.
Dad: "What was that? Who's screaming?"
Jhope: "That's Sunshine!" I exclaimed, a wave of panic hitting me.
Without another thought, I jumped up from the table and bolted toward her room, barely hearing Mom's voice trying to explain.
Mrs. Jung: "Ah, baby’s friend must be here. Those two are probably fighting again,” she chuckled, shaking her head.
Jhope pov ends.
Author's POV
Hearing a scream from upstairs, Jhope’s heart skipped a beat. Without a second thought, he dashed straight to your room, pushing the door open with urgency. Relief washed over him as he took in the scene.
Jhope: “What on earth is going on? Why are you two pulling each other’s hair?” he asked, trying not to laugh as he approached.
Jungkook: “Hyung! Tell your sister to let go! She’s pulling my hair, and it hurts!” he whined, shooting you a glare.
Jhope: “Y/N, let go of his hair,” he said gently, trying to keep a straight face.
Y/N: “No way!” you retorted, meeting Jungkook’s glare with your own fierce stare. “He’s pulling mine too, oppa! Tell him to let go first,” you demanded with a pout.
Jhope: “Sunshine, if you let go, he will too. Just give it a try,” he coaxed patiently.
Y/N: “I said no. And no means no,” you replied firmly.
Jhope sighed, turning to Jungkook. “Jungkook, you’re older. Can’t you be the mature one here?”
Jungkook: “Hyung, do you even consider me your brother?” he pouted, his eyes going wide with mock innocence.
Jhope: “Of course, I do,” he replied, smiling softly.
Jungkook: “Then how can you just watch while I suffer?” he cried, making his eyes even more dramatic.
Y/N: “Don’t forget, bittergourd, he’s my brother too!” you shot back, your eyes just as pleading as Jungkook’s.
Jhope: “Yes, yes, sunshine,” he sighed, caught in the middle of the tug-of-war.
Jungkook: “Aaaahhhh! Ladybug, stop copying me!” he yelled, as you both tightened your grips.
Y/N: “Bittergourd!” you shouted back, the room filling with your voices.
Both of you continued your playful banter, entirely ignoring Jhope’s presence as he stood there, exasperated yet amused by his two “little babies.”
Author’s POV
:
Jungkook and you were completely wrapped up in your heated argument, tugging at each other’s hair and hurling insults as if no one else existed. Meanwhile, Jhope stood there, watching the chaos unfold with an exasperated expression, trying his best to intervene.
Finally, he'd had enough. His patience snapped, and his voice boomed through the room. "YOU BOTH—LET GO OF EACH OTHER'S HAIR RIGHT NOW!"
Y/n POV
:
I froze mid-pull, fingers still tangled in Jungkook's hair. Jungkook’s hand was just as tightly knotted in mine, both of us caught in the middle of our wrestling match.
Oppa had tried to calm us down earlier, but we’d been too wrapped up in our childish bickering to notice.
But this time, he wasn’t asking. His voice echoed with such force that both Jungkook and I instantly stopped, wide-eyed and stunned into silence.
We glanced at each other, still locked in the same ridiculous position, as if trying to process what had just happened.
Jhope, glaring at us with his hands on his hips, looked more like a frustrated parent than my usually relaxed older brother.
Y/n pov end
:
Jhope narrowed his eyes at the two of you. "Maybe you two didn’t hear me properly," he said, his tone steely.
You and Jungkook instantly let go of each other’s hair, snapping to attention.
Turning his gaze to you, Jhope’s voice softened just a little. "And I expect you in the office at exactly 10:00 a.m., got it, sunshine?" His deep voice sent a shiver down your spine, and you quickly nodded.
“Words, sunshine,” he pressed, his eyes stern.
You gulped, feeling a little nervous under his intense stare. "Y-Yes, I’ll be there on time."
Jhope shifted his attention to Jungkook. "And you—aren’t you late for your own job?”
Jungkook blinked and laughed nervously, scratching the back of his neck. “Ah, right, I’m heading out now!” He shot Jhope a sheepish grin before Jhope turned and walked away, still clearly annoyed.
As soon as he left, Jungkook gave you a playful glare. “See? This is all because of you.”
You gasped, pointing an accusing finger at him. “Me? This is definitely because of you!”
Jungkook rolled his eyes. “Okay, okay, truce. If we keep arguing, we’ll just make it worse. Now, how are we going to convince hyung to forgive us?”
A mischievous grin crept onto your face as you cupped your cheeks. “Easy. I’ll win him over with my adorable charms!” You batted your eyelashes, trying to look as cute as possible.
Jungkook scoffed, crossing his arms. “Please, nothing beats the power of my bunny smile,” he said proudly, flashing his toothy grin. "It’s irresistible!"
You both exchanged a look, and then burst into laughter, momentarily forgetting Jhope’s anger as you imagined how ridiculous you’d look trying to “win him over” with your antics.
Y/N: "Yes, yes, you're very cute, my little bunny," she laughed, tugging playfully at Jungkook's cheeks.
The two friends burst into giggles. This was typical for them—they bicker over the smallest things but can never stay mad at each other for long.
Jhope often tries to keep the peace, but with these two, it's an impossible task. Beneath their stubbornness, they have an unbreakable bond, one that could withstand anything, even sacrificing for each other’s happiness.
As they laughed, Y/N glanced at the clock, a sudden realization dawning on her.
Y/N: "Oh no, I’m running late, and it's all your fault! There's only an hour left. Now go to your company, and I’ll get ready for work too"
They said their goodbyes, and Jungkook left, while Y/N picked out her outfit and headed to the bathroom to prepare for the day.
