Summary

In order to catch a serial killing pair Stanley Weatherly will have to risk it all even if it might be his own life. Stanley Weatherly has just been knocked off the best sellers list for his first book and he is already having writers block. Why, he does not know, but he has little time to focus on his writers block when a case comes to his attention. Stanley also helps the local police department with cases that they can’t solve. When he begins investigating a new case he forgets his writers block and begins to concentrate on finding a serial killer. With the help of his friend and long time colleague, Mark Banks, a world renowned psychologist, Stan will try and solve a case which was at first thought to be a suicide, until a second body was found, killed in the same way as the first. It seems open and shut as Mark and Stan find their killer, and even have all of the evidence they need to put the man behind bars. Then it all goes suddenly wrong.

Prologue

He carefully wrapped the tape around the tailpipe, securing the hose.

The hose led into the driver’s side of the cab. The driver was unconscious in the driver’s seat.

“Don’t mess this up,” he said to himself.

After making sure for a second time that everything was ready, he opened the passenger door and started the cab.

He shut the door to the cab and walked ten feet away so he could watch as the man died.

He took a pack of cigarettes out of his pocket and lit one, smoking while he waited.

It would only take about fifteen to twenty minutes for the man to die but just to make sure he waited twenty-five minutes.

He went back to the car and opened the passenger door and climbed in, putting a finger to the man’s neck to check for a pulse.

He was dead.

He closed the passenger door and went towards the back of the alley.

Taking his phone from his pocket he made a call.

“Everything is done,” he said when she picked up.

“I told you not to call me you idiot,” She told him. “Why the hell are you so stupid?”

“I killed him,” he said. “Aren’t you proud of me?”

“I would be better if you didn’t call me,” she said.

“I made sure I did everything right,” he told her, trying one more time to make her happy.

As he climbed through the hole in the fence, he felt a sharp prick in his leg and heard a ripping sound.

“Now hang up the phone and don’t call me. When I want to talk, I will call you.”

She hung up and he put the phone in his pocket and reached down to the spot on his leg.

He felt a rip in his jeans and when he pulled his hand up he could see blood.

“I did everything right,” he said, wishing she could hear him. “I only want to make you happy.”

He slowly walked out of the alley and away from the dead man in the cab behind him.

Hi ,

I hope this message finds you well! I recently discovered your story, and I must say, it is truly impressive. Your writing demonstrates great depth, and I believe it would translate beautifully into a comic format.

As a commissioned artist specializing in various mediums, including comics, manga, character art (original characters included) and cover art, I see a fantastic opportunity to collaborate as a commissioned project on transforming your narrative into an amazing comic. I genuinely think it could gain significant attention and resonate with a wider audience.

If you would like to review my portfolio or discuss this opportunity, I welcome the chance to connect on Discord (Username - bennett_lol). I look forward to your response.

Best regards,
