Chapter 1 - Being Found
The waters churned around the unconscious body and rocks as Eirik Selvik walked the rocky beach near his Norwegian home. The moment he saw the body he began taking photos. The tattered scraps of a light blue dress swayed with the tide as it swept back and forth across pale battered legs. The unidentified female was wedged between rocks.
Eirik approached cautiously as a glint of metal flashed in the early morning light. As he got closer to take more photos, he took in a deep shuddering breath at the sight of the jagged wounds that streaked down the female's face, from her forehead to her lips. Her fiery red hair was tangled and matted to the wounds on her face. The flash of metal was a knife with intricate knotwork metallic designs on the handle that was protruding from her chest.
He checked for a pulse and found it faint, so he stopped photographing to call the authorities. When they arrived he explained what he found and they raced to get her to the hospital where tests were done and she was put on IV. Eirik stayed nearby. The lawyer in him wanted to know what happened to this young female.
