Chapter 1
She slowly opened her eyes only to find herself in a nightmare!!! She was lying in a corner on the floor with one blanket under her head and another covering her. She felt something cold & damp being gently blotted against her face. “Uuuuuhhhhh w-w-what happened, w-w-where am I?” The young woman moaned and asked while struggling to focus her eyes on the one caring for her.
“Oh, good yer finally awake!! I was worried after three days had past…especially since after the beat down ya got those bastards sedated ya.” The young man said with a smile as he continued to gently blot her bruised and swollen face with a damp cloth. Can’t believe these mother fuckers…had to have four of the goons beat her down and then shoot her up with a full fucking dose of that shit???!!! He thought angrily to himself.
“W-w-w-what’s going on?!!” She gasped and tried sitting up only for the young man to gently place his hand on her chest holding her down. She thrashed about under the blanket trying to get free but stopped after a moment.
“Hush darling lay back down; now tell me lil one what’s the last thing ya remember?” He responded slowly removing his hand; he then rose walked and grabbed a bucket; setting it down he gently helped her to sit up…she moaned while he picked up a ladleful of water. “Here I’m sure ya must be thirsty…slowly, slowly now.” He brought the ladle to the young woman’s mouth and slowly poured as she drank.
“Mmmmmhhhh t-t-tryin to bust outta here; fighting those goons…then one of um sucker punches me from behind and everything goes black. T-t-thank you; w-w-who are you? Where are we and what’s going to happen to us?” She drank, said and then began asking. She felt him softly running his hand through her hair and she started blushing.
“Well, where we are is in a supernatural auction house and as for what’s going to happen…sadly we’re going to be sold to the highest bidder. I’ll probably wind up as a guard dog or end up in a fighting pit somewhere…for you lil spitfire I fear a far, far worse fate awaits!!” The young man said sadly while he sat down, cradling her in his arms. She rested her head on his chest, started crying and whimpered a bit. “Sssshhhhh lil spitfire; that’s a heavy sedative these bastards use; it’ll be in your system awhile.”
“Well, when you’re unique living on the streets ya hafta be able to handle yerself.B-but what do you mean you’ll be used as a guard dog? W-w-what’s gonna uuuuuhhhhh!!” She was midsentence when she fell unconscious. He looked down at her with a smile and started stroking her back. Suddenly he looked up with a growl!! The cage door opened, and four men sauntered in smirking and snickering.
“Well, well, well it looks like the monster has a puppy to take care of!!! Aaaaawwwwww how sickeningly sweet!!! Alright it’s feeding time…now don’t try anything stupid or your puppy will suffer.” One of the men growled as two of the others stepped forward, dropped two plates of food and then all four slowly back out of the cage. He gently laid her back down onto the makeshift pillow…then he slowly walked over and picked up the plates of food. Walking backwards he sat back down putting the plates on the ground; he gently picked the woman up and laid her prone form in his lap and wrapped his right arm across her. Using his left hand, he picked up the pieces of roast beef off of one plate put them in his mouth and began chewing. He did the same with the other plate, quickly finished off the sides and then kicked the plates towards the cell door! The four men smirked and slowly backed away from the cell.
Don’t’ worry lil spitfire I’ll protect ya no matter what!!! Axel thought to himself as he gently stroked her back. He started dozing off confident with his enhanced wolf hearing he’d wake up in time to protect both of them. Not that she needs protecting!! The four guards snickered turned and walked away.
Now I wonder if she knows exactly what the FUCK she’s sleeping on!! Is she aware that’s neither a human nor a mutant but a werewolf!!! One of the guards thought to himself as the four guards walked into a lounge and they sat down on different couches and chairs. One soon got up and grabbed a cup of coffee sadly, they wouldn’t be able to enjoy the peace and quiet for very long. A doctor entered the lounge and made a bee line straight for the quartet.
“Aaahhh gentlemen, I understand our newest acquisition woke up is this true? I need to give her a thorough examination to ensure she hasn’t suffered any permanent damage! Our buyers expect pristine premium merchandise that’s why they pay the amounts that they do!! I’d like you to go and bring her to me at once.” The doctor ordered glaring at the guards; the one who had just gotten a cup of coffee rolled his eyes took a sip, then he and the other three guards slowly rose and walked out of the lounge and back towards a particular cell. They soon arrived…opening the cell door they entered and were greeted with a familiar growl.
“What the fuck do ya want now; it ain’t time ta feed us again?!!!” Axel snarled with his eyes half-opened. He felt the young woman stirring and he looked down as she slowly opened her eyes.
“Mmmmhhhh w-what’s going on; w-w-who are you guys?!!” Mariah said sleepily as she looked up at Axel and then turned and looked at the four guards. She slowly reached down and pulled the blanket up around her chest.
“Alright bitch git up git up and come with us now; you’re getting checked out by our doctor. He needs to make sure you’re nice and healthy for the buyers.” Rock said while two of the other guards stepped forward with their hands glowing.
“No, I-I don’t wanna go; I might not make there and back!! Besides something might happen to my friend.” Mariah said as Axel stroked her hair, and she shifted her weight on his lap.
“Well, that’s just too damn bad you don’t git a say now we’re not gonna say this again git yer ass up now!!!” Micha growled as sparks of blackish-crimson energy emanated from his hands as he charged towards them. He was only able to take three steps before Axel growled and onyx-purple energy started arcing across his shoulders and down his back.
“Mother fucker if you talk to her like that again Imma fucking rip yer hearts out and have um for snacks!!!” Axel roared as he started shifting from his human form into a wolf! As his face took on more wolf-like features he looked down at Mariah who was quite shocked! “Oh, I’m sorry lil one I didn’t want you to find out about me bein a werewolf like this.” Before she could respond the quartet of guards rushed forward!! They thrust out their hands and crimson beams of sonic energy slammed into Axel knocking him back causing Mariah to crash down from his lap hitting the ground with a resounding thud!! As she slowly rose to her feet the site in front of her caused a blood curdling scream to burst from her mouth!!! The quartet of guards surrounded Axel and were blasting him with sonic energy beams while also raining blows with their hands and feet!! His anguished cries and snarls caused her to rush the guards thrusting her hands out and beams of purple energy slammed into one of the guards.
“Stop, stop leave him alone!!! Please stop you’re killing him!! I-I-I’ll go I’ll go just stop hurting him!!” Mariah shrieked kneeling in front of Axel and projecting a forcefield of purple energy around both of them. “Axel, Axel it’s ok you’re going to be ok!! I’ll be back soon and I’ll make sure a doctor is with me!” She stepped through the force field and the four guards quickly surrounded her; two of them roughly grabbed her arms and she was dragged away. The two remaining guards took potshots at the forcefield…the sonic beams bounced harmlessly off and the guards scowled as they stormed off quickly catching up with the other guards as they hauled Mariah up and into the medical clinic. They roughly dropped her into an exam room and promptly left as she picked herself up off the floor and reluctantly climbed onto the exam table. The door flung open and a doctor who wore an extreme look of boredom slowly sauntered in.
“Aaaaahhhhh it’s nice to see your finally awake!!! Now then let’s see what damage those brain-dead idiots did and how well that thing was able to tend to your wounds.” Dr. Belgrant stated curtly closing the door walking straight to the sink washing and drying his hands. Putting on a pair of gloves and without even asking he immediately started examining her head with a not so gentle bedside manner.
“Mmmmmhhhh there doesn’t seem to be any contusions or apparent damage to the skull bbbbuuttt I think a head CT is in order just to be sure. Now then if you’ll lay down so I can assess the rest of you?” Reluctantly she laid down on the exam table and the doctor proceeded to lift up her shirt and started examining her barely stopping when she flinched and winced as he firmly pressed on her ribs!!! “It seems several of your ribs are either broken, cracked or bruised so, it would seem we need a full CT instead of just a scan of the head! This shouldn’t take too much longer…as it would seem that thing has done a reasonable job of tending to the bruises, cuts and lacerations.” The doctor stated as one of the guards flew in with a wheelchair. Mariah sat up and gingerly made her way off of the table and just barely made it into the chair when the guard suddenly pulled it back!!! Gripping the arms of the wheelchair Mariah was sliding around and was gritting her teeth as they purposefully went over every bump and she moaned and groaned as quietly as she could; she wasn’t going to give them the satisfaction of hearing her!! They soon made it to the CT-scan room They stopped giving her barely enough space to get out of the wheelchair and onto the table. As she struggled they snickered and she glared at them.
“You sadistic mother fuckers are gonna pay for everything one day I just hope I’m there to see it!!” Mariah stated through gritted teeth and she laid down on the table. As the guards removed the wheelchair and stormed out of the room the table slid into the tube. She followed the instructions given to her not moving; she tried to block out the sounds around her and her thoughts wandered to Axel. Was he alive, hurt? Soon the noise stopped and the table shot back out of the tube. The guards came back in as she was sitting up; they brought the wheelchair and she slowly got into it. They brought her back into the exam room where the doctor was waiting.
“Aaaahhh good your back…now it’ll take a few moments to get the results but we’re going to wrap up your ribs just as precaution. Now have a seat on the exam table and I’ll get started.” Dr. Belgrant said as he watched Mariah struggle to get from the wheelchair to the exam table with no assistance. Once she was seated, he grabbed several rolls of ace wrap and tightly wrapped her ribs.
“Mmmmmhhhhh for a doctor you’ve got fucking shitty bedside manner!!” She growled as he firmly pressed the Velcro on the bandage. She gingerly rose and sat in the chair again, she was barely in when the guards quickly pulled the wheelchair away. They wheeled her back to the cell where to her horror she saw that the forcefield she’d placed around Axel was gone and guards were again beating him and blasting sonic energy beams at his head!! She screamed thrusting her hands out and beams of purple energy shot forth!! The energy beams slammed into the two guards who were blasting Axel’s head with sonic energy Rising from the chair she tried her best to get to Axel…this wouldn’t be necessary as Axel suddenly swung his left leg kicking one of the guards knocking him on his ass!! Axel then rose his claws coming out and he slashed at the first guard he saw!! The guard screamed dropped to his knees and clutched his chest as Axel rushed towards Mariah!! Another guard stepped in front of him Axel growled baring his fangs; the guard had second thoughts and got the hell outta Axel’s way!!
“Hmmm smart move mother fucker!!! Mariah thank you; are you ok?” Axel snarled as the guard ran away and asked as he walked towards her. He scooped her up and slowly walked back towards the corner where the makeshift bed was. “Oh, my poor darling, are you alright?”
“I-I’ll be alright that fucking doctor had a horrible bedside manner and my ribs are broken, cracked and or bruised mmmhhh fuck he coulda at least given me some pain meds.” She responded as he sat down and cradled her in his arms. “Are you alright?!”
“Mmmmhhhh yes, I’ll be fine Werewolves heal quickly…my ears will take a bit of time though. Oh, my lil spitfire I’m sorry I shoulda told you sooner I was a werewolf, but I didn’t want to scare you.” Axel said kissing her on the forehead trying to be careful about her ribs.
“I-I’m a little scared but you won’t hurt me. B-b-but we’ve gotta find a way outta here!!” Mariah said as she started crying. He grabbed the blanket and covered her up; he gently set her down on his lap. Wiping her tears he suddenly looked at the door and savagely growled as Dr. Belgrant sauntered into the cell.
“If I were you my dear I’d erase the word escape from your vocabulary this instant! I’d hate to see your lovely body cold and dead. Now then my dear I’ve come to bring you this and you need to drink it. You’ve got to be in pristine condition this weekend.” Dr. Belgrant said entering the cell walking over to them stopping far enough away that he was able to levitate the small potion bottle over to Mariah. Axel took the bottle from her opened it and sniffed; replacing the stopper he handed it back to Mariah. “Well, are you satisfied it is what I said it is?”
“Why what’s going on this weekend?” Mariah asked nervously as she removed the stopper and drank the potion. She shuddered put the stopper back in the bottle and then tossed it back to the Doctor. He caught it deftly and slowly walked back towards the cell door. “There’s an auction this weekend and I’m sure you are going to bring quite a high price!!!” He walked out of the cell and headed back to his office.
“Oh my god Axel what am I gonna do?!!” Mariah burst into tears and Axel started softly stroking her hair. “W-w-w-what’s going to happen to me?!!”
“Sssssssshhhhh it’s gonna be ok lil spitfire everything is gonna be alright. I’ll figure out a way to get us outta here. It’s gonna be ok everything will be ok.” He replied as she leaned her head onto his chest, and she started crying. “You need to eat somethin hun; taking a healing potion on an empty stomach can be disastrous; I don’t want you to get sick.” The cell door flew open and two guards barged in again; they dropped two plates of food and back away. Axel gently set Mariah down picked up the plates and brought them over. He handed her a plate gently picked her up and set her down on his lap. Then he picked up the other plate and they both started eating. It was steak with mashed potatoes and broccoli; they both ate quickly and he took both of the plates and flung them like frisbees towards the cell door! The plates slammed against the door and Mariah looked up at him her eyes wide like a deer caught in headlights. He again kissed her on the forehead and she giggled. “Try and get some sleep now lil spitfire; don’t worry everything will be alright.”
“I-I’ll try but I’m not an object to be bought and sold!!” She said closing her eyes and leaning her head onto his chest. She felt his gentle kiss on her head and felt her cheeks getting hot.
She’s so beautiful I-I never thought I’d wanna claim a mate but by the Goddess I wanna fucking mark her so bad!!! Axel thought to himself as he too closed his eyes. They peacefully slept for the remainder of the night; Axel’s enhanced wolf hearing roused him to the approaching footsteps of the guards. “Hey Mariah honey wake up someone’s coming.”
“Mmmmhhh I-I’m awake; uuuuuhhhhh oomph my ribs!!” Mariah tried to stretch only for the pain in her ribcage to stop her dead in her tracks. He kissed her forehead and started gently rubbing her back. He glared at the cell door as it opened and multiple guards walked in along with what appeared to be a man dressed in a navy blue suit and a matching cape.
“Aaaahhhh so this is the young woman I’ve heard about!!” Andreas Belmont said with a smirk as Axel growled!! Ugh they had to put her in with an animal!!! “Come here my dear I’d like to get a closer look at you.”
“No, she’s not going anywhere near you!!! You fucking blood sucking prick if you take a single step towards her I’ll kill you!!” Axel growled as his claws popped out, his face took on a more canine appearance!! He set her down stood bared his fangs and onyx-purple energy balls appeared in his hands. The guards laughed as they stepped forward with balls of onyx-crimson sonic energy in their hands.
“Please try it monster!! I’d love to have another chance to beat your ass!!! Maybe I’ll do more damage to your ear drums.” Nico said wickedly as Andreas stepped in front of the guards.
“That will be quite enough of that; I can assure you beast I intend no harm I merely wish to have a closer look at her. Please my dear come forward.” He stated calmly his eyes fixated on her. Rise my dear, come forward and let me see you. I said come forward and let me see you!! Suddenly Mariah was on her feet and slowly walking towards the mystery man with a look of terror on her face passed Axel who growled even louder.
“You son of a bitch fucking figures you’d resort to compulsion!!! Don’t fight Mariah it’ll hurt more if you do.” It took every ounce of will power he had not to lunge at his mortal enemy. Mariah’s body moved of its own free will past Axel and stopped just short of the guards. Andreas walked over to her and slowly started circling devouring her with his eyes.
“Hhhmmm your 5’5 or 5’6 130-140lbs. quite unkempt, filthy actually humph pristine condition indeed. I heard about your escape attempt and your subsequent beating…you seemed to have healed remarkably well and quickly!! Healing potions are wonderous things aren’t they…it would seem though your ribs aren’t quite fully healed are they?” He stated reaching out and stroking her hair. His hand moved from her hair to her chin and gently lifted up so that he was staring into her sapphire eyes. “Your eyes are quite lovely my dear!!”
“T-t-t-thank you and based offa Axel’s reaction I-I’d say you’re what a vampire?!!” She responded and tried to turn away, but he wasn’t having it!! He held her chin ensuring she was still looking him in the eyes.
“Hhhhmmmm yes, I am a vampire ancient blood enemy of that filthy beast you’re surprisingly unafraid of!! That is quite remarkable” Was his response as he removed his hand from her chin and she quickly looked down at her feet. “Gentlemen I’ve seen enough thank you for escorting me and if you’d kindly pass a message on to your employer for me? I shall be here for the auction this weekend and I am quite interested in this lovely little flower…I would expect her ribs to be fully healed and that she’ll be clean and not wearing clothes that are torn and bloody.”
“Oh, not to worry Mr. Belmont she’ll be fully healed and cleaned before the auction. We look forward to seeing you then.” Nico stated as he tried to act like the leader; the other guards outright laughed and he glared at them!! They walked out of the cell as Axel rushed towards Mariah. She was shaking as he scooped her up and brought her back to the corner. Sitting down slowly he placed her in his lap and covered her with a blanket while she leaned her head onto his chest and she started crying softly.
“Oh, gawd I’m gonna be auctioned off like a piece of art or old furniture!! If he buys me w-w-wh-what’s he gonna do with and or to me?!! He’s really a vampire just like you’re really a werewolf?!!” She said as Axel caressed the left side of her face softly.
“Yes lil spitfire he’s really a vampire and I’m really a werewolf; not a mutant who can turn into a wolf. Well, I am a mutant but this is my mutant ability!” He responded as a small ball of that onyx-purple energy appeared in his right hand. She saw it in her peripheral vision and turned her head slightly to see it clearly. The energy ball disappeared after a moment and she nuzzled her head into his chest. “I had a feeling you didn’t believe me when I told you.”
“Well, it’s not something you hear every day and I-I’m sorry for being skeptical.” She mumbled sleepily; he kissed her left temple and she giggled. Oh god he’s cute but I don’t stand a chance with him!!!
“It’s alright I understand spitfire…I’m hesitant about telling people because they’ll either think I’m simply a mutant or they’ll think I’m crazy. Worse are the ones who believe then try to kill me!” He said softly stroking her hair. It didn’t take him long to realize she had fallen asleep. Sleep well my lil spitfire know that I’ll protect you from any and everything!!! I’ll find a way to get you outta here before that blood sucking bastard gets his hands on you!!! He slowly closed his eyes. He awoke to the sound of the cell door opening and he snarled at the guards. They dropped off the plates of food and with looks of disgust on their faces they walked back outta the cell. Fuck off bastards you wouldn’t stand a chance with her!!! “Hey baby wake up food’s here.”
“Mmmmmhhhh hhhhhhmmmmm five more minutes please?” She mumbled as he gently placed her on the ground went and picked up the plates then sat back down. He picked her up putting her back on his lap and he gently nuzzle her nose. She slowly opened her eyes smiled at him and slowly stretched. Her ribs were less sore and painful and she was able to fully stretch her arms out! He handed her a plate and she started eating meatloaf, macaroni & cheese and corn. “At least their feeding us…mmmhhh is there any water in the bucket?” She asked as she reluctantly got off his lap and walked over to the bucket. Picking up the ladle she saw the bucket was a quarter full…she lifted the ladle took a drink dipped the ladle back in and brought it to Axel. He took the ladle drank the water and handed it back to her with a smile.
“Next time the guards come we need to get some fresh water. A-A-Axel I-I-I don’t uuuuuuuhhhhh!!!” She was midsentence when she suddenly fell to the floor!!! Axel rushed over and was about to pick her up when he fell unconscious!!! The cell door opened and several guards sauntered in!! One guard picked Mariah up and they walked out of the cell. They brought her to a bathroom where several women were waiting. She was passed off and promptly undressed!! Then she was gently lowered into a tub of hot water; four of the women surrounded the tub and started gently washing her. She woke up a few hours later back in the cell in Axel’s arms in clean clothes and her hair braided.
“Hey there lil spitfire I’m glad to see your finally awake!! Bastards drugged the food I should have checked it and I’m sorry. When I woke and you weren’t here I-I-I was so afraid that something bad had happened!!! Then they brought you back your hair was still a bit damp and you were shivering a bit so I wrapped you in the blanket and held you. Here let me get you some water.” He said reluctantly setting her down on his lap reaching for the ladle in the bucket that was now full. She sat up slowly and started slowly drinking; when he saw that she was done Axel set the ladle back into the bucket. He brought the ladle back up drank then dropped it back into the bucket where it landed with a splash. Then he gently picked her back up and held her like a bride. Oh, goddess hear my plea please help me find a way to save both of us!!!
“A-A-A-Axel uuummm c-c-can I ask you something?” Mariah stammered clutching the blanket as her face turned beet red!! He looked at her curiously and then smiled as he leaned and nuzzled her nose gently.
“Yes, lil spitfire you can ask me anything! I’ll try and answer as honestly as I can.” He responded as he gently stroked her face with the back of his left hand. He waited patiently as she took a deep breath in held it for a few seconds then exhaled.
“Uuummm d-d-d-do you have a girlfriend?!!” She stammered and started giggling as her face turned red. I-I-I-I can’t believe I just asked him that!!
“What was that darling?” He responded kissing her forehead and nuzzling her nose again as she quickly tried to hide her face. “Mariah please look at me.” She was squirming in his arms, and he gently set her down next to him. “Come on lil spitfire you’ve got nuthin to be embarrassed or ashamed of.”
“N-n-n-never mind forget I even asked!!!” She quickly turned her back to him and hid her face in her hands!! What the fuck is wrong with me?!! She felt him gently turning her around, carefully pulling her hands down and place two of his fingers under her chin then slowly lift so that they were looking into each other’s eyes.
“Oh, my sweet, sweet lil spitfire please don’t hide that beautiful face; no, I don’t have a girlfriend or a mate…I’d never thought I’d want a mate until I met you. Even though we barely know one another I just knew when I saw how you’d managed to escape and were fighting so hard for your freedom that you were exactly what I’d want in a mate!! Then the Moon Goddess smiled upon me and they put you in here with me. I swear I’ll find a way to get us outta here!!! I also swear that when we escape I’ll not only mark you I’ll make you a werewolf too.
