"I really enjoyed this plot. Theres only one thing i am confused about, the 7/8mark. At one point it sounded like it was how many times she sold her memories, then how many times she was in love, then how many times she turned her back on love for herself, then that she was the 7th/8th of her name? What exactly was the point of the marks?"

"I know this author's work well, and she has only improved over time (though it was always wonderful). But this brought things to another level. It's pure, dark, intense poetry. This is not reading for the faint of heart. But if you want to read something original in ways that should be applauded and are tired of all the trite copycats and overdone tropes, then this is the book for you."

A TRUE and perfect dark romantasy.
"From the first chapter this story ate and left no crumbs, as the kids say. Liora is a unique FMC, not young, naive OR sweet (none of this book is "sweet", funnily enough, except for her shadows that seem to love touching/holding Ashton, so damn cute), but is unapologetically embracing of her succubi nature. She's clearly not thrilled that-- against her better judgement-- she forms an attachment/obsession with Ashton who is an over-calculating scheming vampire, but just unhinged enough to meet her level of intensity. Unapologetically brutal and honest, this story at its core is about two people who are attracted to each other but fighting their instincts every step of the way. The smut is thorough, well written and FITTING, not gratuitous or out of context. The author is a gifted wordsmith and unravels the story with gorgeous analogies and metaphor– and frankly makes me feel stunted as a writer by comparison. Solid banter, chemistry, and love-hate intensity as every good dark romance should be. I can't wait for the next chapters and I SWEAR these stubborn people better finally admit their feelings for each other before the story ends or I will be heart broken. lol 5/5 Would recommend. "
