Chapter 1
Start writi"Love is hard and confusing now. It's not as simple as it was in your time-childhood friends becoming forever lovers, the one and only. That's just a myth now," Mia said, her tone laced with frustration.
Aanya chuckled softly. "Who told you love was simple in our time, sweetheart? Love has always come with its fair share of drama. Now that you're 13, maybe it's time I tell you our story-mine and my friends. But let me warn you, love isn't a straightforward journey. It can happen with the same person over and over again. Sometimes you hate them, sometimes they annoy you, and other times, they make you angry. But love also brings happiness, sadness, joy, encouragement... so many emotions all at once."
"Alright, tell me," Mia said, crossing her arms. "I bet it's not as complicated as mine. You're perfect! You always know the right thing to say and do. It must've been easy for you."
Aanya laughed, her eyes sparkling with nostalgia. "Oh, you think so? College was a whole different story, Mia. Trust me, you'll be surprised to know what I and your aunts were like back in those days."
Mia raised an eyebrow, curiosity piqued. "This, I have to hear."
Aanya took a dramatic sip of her tea, as if it were the most important part of the story, and then grinned. "Alright, listen up-tea is crucial in this story, remember that. Now, let me think... What should I start with? Hmm, let's skip the childhood stuff and middle school drama, and jump straight to my first day of college. Actually, scratch that. Before the first day, let me tell you about my hostel move-in day. My dorm, to be precise."
Mia, who had been patiently waiting, groaned. "Mom, don't drag it out. Make it quick."
Aanya raised an eyebrow playfully. "You can stop me anytime if I start boring you, okay? Ready? Can I start now?"
Mia sighed dramatically, rolling her eyes. "Yes, please. Get on with it."
Aanya chuckled and leaned back, settling into the story.
"Okay, picture this: every girl dreams of moving into a hostel. It's like stepping into a world of freedom-no parents hovering around, no one telling you when to go to bed or what to eat. Sure, my parents weren't super strict, but let's just say they were the kind of people who would call five times a day to check if I was eating enough greens. So, when I finally got the chance to live on my own, I was over the moon. The cherry on top? My best friend Kat and I were in the same college and-drumroll-the same dorm. We'd been planning this day forever. We studied hard, talked about this moment like it was our version of a fairy tale, and now, it was finally happening.
Our parents, on the other hand, were both relieved and a little anxious, knowing we had each other to lean on. After all, what could possibly go wrong when two best friends were living in a dorm together? I mean, we had each other's backs, right?
The first day was like a whirlwind. We were giggling and decorating our room like it was a Pinterest board come to life. Throw pillows, fairy lights, posters of our favorite bands-it was basically a dream world. We didn't even notice when our new roommate arrived. She just slipped in quietly, grabbed her bed, and started unpacking like a ninja. No drama, no conversation. It was like she had this silent, mysterious vibe going on. We assumed she was just a quiet person. Little did we know, she was about to add a whole new layer of mystery to our lives.
Back then, I was a different person. I talked way too much-like, non-stop-my brain and mouth never seemed to sync up. I had these wild, unrealistic fantasies in my head that would never happen, and I'd get scared by the silliest things. And, oh, don't even get me started on how easily I'd get excited. My emotions were like a rollercoaster. One minute I'd be over the moon, and the next, I'd be a bundle of nerves. And when I was nervous? Oh, boy. I'd either start rambling nonsense or go completely silent, like a deer caught in headlights. You'll get to know me a lot better as our story goes on, I promise.
Now, Kat... she was my total opposite. She was the definition of sass. Strong. Confident. You could hear her confidence as she walked into a room. It was like she had this invisible aura that said, don't mess with me. And let me tell you if someone did mess with her? They'd regret it. She had this way of handling people that was almost too smooth like she could talk her way out of anything. Meanwhile, I was the girl who could make even the simplest situation awkward-my talent was turning normal conversations into social disasters.
But here's the thing-nobody knew this except me-Kat wasn't invincible. Sure, she was tough on the outside, but deep down, she had fears, just like everyone else. She was kind, super caring, and, let's face it, one of the sweetest people you'd ever meet. You'd think someone so confident wouldn't need a soft side, but Kat was proof that you could be both strong and compassionate at the same time.
As for our new roommate? Well, that's a whole different story. But I'll save that for later.
So after saying our tearful goodbyes to our parents, unpacking, and dreaming about what our first day would be like, we finally fell asleep. The room was quiet, but the excitement of what was to come buzzed in the air. It was the calm before the storm... or maybe just the beginning of a whole new adventure."

Well, here's the first chapter! I hope you liked it... grammar mistakes and all. Let's just pretend they're 'quirks' of the story, alright? Thank you for reading.
