Chapter 1- A day in the life

Rosella’s POV:

I woke up at around 5am, stretched in my bed, and quickly checked my phone for messages. It was a normal Tuesday morning, silence and a little bit of light shining through my white see-through curtains.

I knew I had to hurry up and get out of bed because im usually quite slow in the mornings, but it was so early! 5am you must be thinking? Well, to be honest I usually have the mindset to think that if I am going to college today, might as well go in style.

Anyways, eventually I got out of bed and got ready for the day with makeup, jewellery and a nice, long flowy, white satin dress! To college?! Yes to college, I love dressing up for summer or no matter weather it is. As I have heard “to look good is too feel good.” Of course, I make sure I am following the college rules which mainly is to just wear my lanyard. Off track! Whoops! But as you read on you will start to realise why this day effected me, how I am like as a person, and what I did to stay positive.

Moving on with my day, I walked along the busy streets and headed to college! The sun was shining bright and my black straight hair softly flew as i walked with the breeze.

As I was just about to turn a corner near the bushes and flowers that is near my local corner shop, a man wearing a dark grey hoodie jumped out of the bushes! I gasped bamboozled by the situation! What was he doing in the bushes? I looked at him in horror and confusion and he went on to say “didn’t mean to give ya a scare! I was just shitting myself!”

Now, what did I do you may ask? I ran across the street and ended up right at college of course! Rather be safe than sorry.. I had never experienced something like that so I did decide to run but i felt safe when I reached college. At peace.

The rest of the day went along as usual, until the end of my college day…

So let me give you some background info! I had just started posting on social media in a public account and realised a few people at college had found it.. It made me happy to post as I mostly engaged with all my friends, and they were the little moments that i cherished in life like a chill day out with my family at my favourite restaurant!

Unfortunately for me, a group of immature boys had found my account and decided to start spraying water on me as I walked home! It wasn’t bullying more like purposely teasing me, as they were friends of a few friends I knew at college. I won’t let anyone ruin my mood! So what if that happened! I just need to always remind myself that things happen for a reason and if it effects me it is important to speak up. But this situation was different and reflecting upon it I realise that it will be a funny memory to think about in the future. Think of it like this.. if I was telling my friends in the future “omg! Remember that time when that happened!” It will be a fun memory to talk about.

This is just why I believe that everything happens for a reason, it is important to take each day as it comes and prioritise yourself. But remember if something happens try to talk with somebody who you feel safe with or if not take it baby steps at a time.

Thank you, you are amazing and don’t let ANYONE tell you otherwise.
