Chapter 1
When the taxi pulled up to Spencer’s apartment, I was still debating whether to buy a bouquet of flowers.
Spencer had said that every reunion after our separation, he would buy me a bouquet.
Back then, I truly believed that we would be together forever.
Three months ago, I received an opportunity to study in New York, and it was in this apartment that we spent the most beautiful four months of our lives, cooking together, shopping together, and promising to get married.
On the night of our parting, Spencer and I made love; he covered his face with the blanket, and I gently lifted it, revealing Spencer’s fair and delicate face, his tearful eyes shining like the stars at night, revealing reluctance. He said, “Can you not leave?”
The last two words were spoken with a choked voice, the drawn-out tail tone hoarse.
At that time, my heart seemed to melt. For a better future for us, I hoped I had enough ability to make my family agree with my marriage to Spencer, so I still shook my head and kissed his lips, “Wait for me, just two more years, and I will save money to come to you.”
The warm light shone on his face, his tears like pearls, dripping into my heart.
We hugged each other deeply, kissing incessantly, wishing to blend into each other’s body. My tears slid onto the pillow, “Spencer, you must marry me.”
His eyes were touching and charming, “I swear, I will only marry you in this life.”
When I found out I was pregnant, I resolutely handled my leave of absence and wanted to fly back to marry him, wanting to be with him.
Familiar security guards and floors, I got on the elevator, imagining his surprised look when he saw me.
It had only been two months since we parted, yet my longing for him was as fierce as the scorching sun.
I stepped into the apartment I had left after two months.
Everything here was from my four months with Spencer, but now, all traces had been replaced by another girl.
The photo frame held a picture of him and Savannah, the wardrobe was filled with his and Savannah’s clothes, the apartment had become their home.
The moment I opened the door, I took out my phone to record my long-awaited reunion with Spencer, but instead recorded him living with someone else.
My baby in my womb seemed to sense my collapse and pain, I tried to stabilize my emotions, wanting to quickly accept this reality, but I couldn’t hold back my tears, “Why is Savannah here... When did you two start...”
Spencer looked at me nervously, his voice began to tremble, and said to Savannah behind him, “I have to go out for a while.”
Then, a blush spread across her fair face, and she said considerately, “Come back early.”
My heart suddenly felt like it was being torn apart, no blood, but the pain was unbearable.
Now, I felt like an insignificant person, being called out by him.
