The body of mine
An artist, unsatisfied with a sculpture,
Will carve into it, change the shape,
Until they are proud to show it.
A poet, unsatisfied with their words,
Will change them,
make them fit the intended meaning,
Until they are proud to show it.
The body of mine is a sculpture you like.
One I’m not proud to show,
So I try to carve away the fat
And I wish to change the shape.
The body of mine is a poem you like.
One I’m not proud to show,
So I try to make it fit my mind,
And I wish to change the shape.
