Maisie had always found solace in the quiet corners of her family’s café, nestled in the cobbled streets near the old town square of Maastricht. Between managing her coursework and helping her parents at the café, she found herself daydreaming—more often than she’d admit—about Liam, the headmaster’s poised and quietly charming son.
Liam, despite his privilege, had an ease about him. He wasn’t loud or showy like most people with influence. There was something gentle, observant—almost poetic—in the way he moved through the world, as if he saw things others missed.
Maisie’s best friends, Audrey and Dia, were her pillars. Audrey was the bubbly one, full of color and light, and dating Henry—Lila Wallshood’s brother. Henry, despite his family’s reputation, had a quiet rebellion in his heart, much like Audrey. Dia, on the other hand, was the fire. A Dutch-Indian tomboy with short-cropped black hair, a soft Gujarati accent when she slipped into her mother tongue, and a signature look that screamed confidence—black jeans, boots, and a snarky T-shirt. Fluent in five languages, she was the fierce protector of the trio, the one who called out BS when she saw it.
Lila Wallshood was everything Maisie wasn’t—rich, popular, always perfectly styled, and utterly used to getting what she wanted. And right now, what—or who—she wanted was Liam.....
