"It finally took me a while, but I’ve officially crossed ‘The Grumpy Next Door’ off my to read list and honestly? What a blast! I had the best time reading this story unfold. Let’s talk about the main protagonists of the story, Logan and Suzy. These two were basically oil and vinegar! You’ve got Logan, the resident Ice King, and Suzy, the ultimate Sunshine Queen. They’re polar opposites who should technically repel each other, but somehow, they just worked. They really were the perfect match. I’ll admit, there were times in the early chapters I wanted to understand Logan, like why was he like this? But once we got into the backstory about his ex-wife, Elizabeth, his ice-cold serious exterior finally started to make sense. Luckily, Suzy was exactly the glow-up he needed to melt that icy heart of his. And let’s not forget the spice bedroom cardio! The chemistry was top-tier, steamy and fun, but definitely kept it from veering into chaotic/masochistic territory. All in all, I totally get why this book won the writing contest. Kudos to B.E. Harmel! I’m officially a fan and can’t wait to dive into whatever you write next!"

There was almost a redeeming quality to the ex-wife when she first appeared in the story that could have been developed more. I also felt that the growing keenship between Suzy and Izzy could have been developed better as part of the family aspect of the plot. Overall, this was an enjoyable read. "
