Summary
Fate cannot be fought... but it can be played. Once again, the Visrel sisters are separated, but this time, it is by choice. Or so they think. Sterling has chosen to reclaim the Elven throne and ignore Seraiah's warning. In doing so, she has unknowingly taken another step down the path fate has selected for her. However, she is determined to fight what she is becoming and change the rules of the game--one move at a time. Seraiah has decided she wants to make some changes of her own. To bring fate's little game to an end, she plans to take out the most important piece: the Queen. Murdering her own sister might destroy Seraiah, but that is a sacrifice she is willing to make. Perhaps they are merely pieces on a board being guided along by someone else's hand, but these sisters are playing to win.
