This book contains heavy and mature themes, including psychological conflict, depression, trauma, mental health struggles, and gothic elements. While it is not purely explicit, it is emotionally intense and therefore marked as 18+ for its subject matter rather than physical content alone.

This is not a soft, dreamy romance.

The characters you will meet are morally grey, flawed, and deeply human. They are not saints, not idealized heroes, and certainly not perfect lovers. They make mistakes, carry emotional damage, and act from places of pain and complexity.

This is my second book and the first installment in the Hate and Hearts series.

Each book in the series can be read as a standalone, though they are thematically connected.

This is a multi-couple story, though the opening chapters primarily focus on the main pair. As the narrative unfolds, other relationships will be introduced, each carrying their own emotional weight and depth.

The story shifts between character POVs and author narration, depending on what best serves the moment.

While the initial chapters may feel lighter, chaotic, or misleading, the story gradually descends into much darker psychological territory.

I kindly ask readers not to judge this book solely by the first twenty chapters—the core themes unfold more deeply from Chapter 25 onward.

Betrayal and abuse are not romance—and I refuse to romanticize them.

Any intimate scenes included are never excessive or purely physical. They are emotional, intentional, and meaningful. I do not believe in glorifying abuse, toxicity, or manipulation in the name of dark romance.
