I could never escape. I don't know why, but in every room I enter, there's always his shadow, gripping, waiting. Someone I can never avoid, who always knows how to trap me in the darkness of my mind. Silas.
And now, here, in the middle of a cold, suffocating pool of blood, I can still feel his rough touch on my body. My face stings, fresh blood dripping from my lips, the ones he kissed too greedily. Cold sweat and the scent of metal fill my nose. My hands clutch the shirt that's nearly torn apart, trying to erase the marks he's left, his wounds, his kisses.
"Don't go, Tess," he whispers, his voice hoarse, as if he wants to swallow everything. His eyes look at me in a way only he can: like a predator who just caught its prey. "You know I can't live without you."
Hold on, Teressa. Hold on... I gather my strength, trying to resist falling into his arms again. But his eyes... those eyes full of obsession. He smiles faintly, a smile that could make the world stop spinning.
"I'll always be here," he says, before pressing his lips to mine again. This time, deeper, harder. And I feel as if this world exists only for the two of us, in the dark, in the blood, in the bond I can't break free from.
