Chapter 1
“Run! Don’t look back, just keep running”
My mind kept telling me as I ran as fast as I could through the forest trying my best not to fall down as different creatures were chasing me.
I was so scared that I almost peed myself. Running with all my might I could feel the creatures catching up to me. I had no idea why they are chasing me, but I continued running with no thought of stopping. The thought of looking back to see what they look like crossed my mind, but I shook the intrusive thought away and I continued running till my body felt like giving up.
I saw a cave up ahead and decided to hide there, praying that no one would find me. I kept thinking of how I got into this situation and why I was not with my guards. Why today of all days. I wondered what caused this situation but before I could think of anything else, I heard a loud roar coming from outside the cave.
Hearing the noise echoing louder made my heart skip a beat. Many thoughts were running through my mind but before I could reach a conclusion, I felt a presence behind me. A figure with a distorted appearance started walking towards me. Squinting my eyes, I could barely make out what I was seeing but it seemed like a figure of a man with what looked like boils, some oozing with yellow pus coming out all over his face. When he got closer to me, I saw his whole body was covered with burn marks. I was so terrified that I froze in shock. I couldn’t move at all. I decided to close my eyes hoping I would be saved as I felt a presence over me and its wet tongue licking me. Getting itself ready to devour me.
As I awaited my fate, I heard a voice asking if I was alright. I slowly opened my eyes and I saw an angel…... No, a girl smiling as she stretched her hands at me. I couldn’t see her face very well because of the light that was shining behind her. Immediately I grabbed her hand I awoke from my dream.
Sitting up in my bed, I could feel the beads of sweat drip down my forehead, but what was on my mind was the girl and her soothing voice. I wished I had seen her face but there was nothing I could do. As I pondered on the dream I just had, I heard a knock and soon a manly voice which sounded horse from the early morning was telling me.
‘Your Majesty, your meeting is about to start’.
