Prologue

Jolting awake, I sit bolt upright looking for the danger, but come to realise that I'm on a plane that's landing. I'm safe.

I scan my eyes around at the men who saved me from the torture chamber that I'd been kept in for the last six months and see all of them are looking at me with guilt and sadness in their eyes. Why guilt because they didn't save me quickly enough? How could they when I was being kept at the main camp, I don’t even remember how they managed to save me. All I remember is waking up on gurney in a Medic Bay... bandages wrapped around most of my body, a woman sat looking at me eyes wide in shock that I had woken up so quickly.

She didn't get to explain where I was because I rolled off of the fucking thing and crawled away from her going to a corner cowering... she had called for someone to help and when the person walked in they told her to get out.

I still remember what he said, the man.. my brother in arms "Griffin... you're safe. You're not a prisoner anymore man you're safe. We saved you. They're all dead."... that same man is sitting next to me, holding my arm down it takes me a second to realise why I've bitten into my wrist, and blood is oozing everywhere... looking down, I see the female medic about to start bandaging me her eyes meet mine before she says, "May I, I'll be quick. I promise I know you don't like being touched."

Nodding my head stiffly, she begins to clean and fix me up. Barry stands up and points to his phone. "I'm gonna give my best-friend a call and see where he's at. He's going to drive you to my apartment and get you settled." I nod, and he walks away. +
