She didn’t know that what made her insecure around others was caused by insecurity. She didn’t know that a little compassion and empathy could immunize her to the pain and sadness that came with living on this earth. If only she could break the cycle. The cycle of blind speech, hurt, and isolation. Everyone taking part in a game; all identical but kept secret as if no one would understand. She didn’t know that when a thought expressed was met with agreement, it meant that we’re not as alone as we feel.
She laid in bed scrolling robotically, driven by the loneliness like an unhealthy addiction and she didn’t know that the rest of the world was too.
Get out of your head. relate a feeling. Your weird thought might not be so weird. But how will you know if you keep it in?
She didn’t know that no one saw her insecurities. The only thing they saw were the way she carried theirs perfectly.
