Chapter 1
Lili
I waited for him.
I waited all day long. It's our fifth anniversary today. So imagine my surprise when I got delivery today. Nothing big, a small box addresed to me. Thought it was my anniversary gift from my husband. With a big smile I opened it just so my smile could be wiped away by a million photos. Of my husband. And many, many other women!
It's like my world tilted and shifted. I gave him everything I had, everything I was. Stayed with him through college, first Jobs, sleepless nights to start new business and many other things that happened through our 7 Years of relationship.
And this is how he repays me! By cheating on me. Oh God, I can't even count the number of different women on these pictures. And the man of the hour shows up, at Midnight, nontheless. Asshole.
He barely spotted me in the dim light of our livingroom when he stumbled inside. Drunk, might I add. "Lili, what are you doing in the dark?" He frowned at me sitting, arms crossed, trying to keep my tears at bay.
"Have a seat Liam, I need to Talk to you." I barely mannaged through my teeth. I was pissed, angry, but the biggest thing that got to me is I felt no love for him. Hmm, weird.
I mean 7 years, did I ever love him at all? Or was he my attempt of a normal life?
"Did something happen, why do you Look like that?" I can see him trying to sober up because the Look on my face was anything but loving.
"I got a gift in the mail today, thank you so much for my anniversary gift." I sad with the sweetest, most fake smile I ever gave anyone.
"You're welcome, Honey." Ohhh right, I saw that twitch of surprise, widening of the eyes. He forgot. "Did you like your gift? I've been thinking about it for a while now?" The asshole, new name from now on, tried to come and hug me, but I stopped him with a hand on his chest. I rose slowly from my chair and reached for the box on the coffee table.
"Ohh i loved it, I bet it took you a while to collect all of them. I can see you had so much fun with it." I can see the confusion in his eyes when I handed him the box.
The colour drained from his face when he took a look inside. We stood there frozen, he not saying anything, me? Planing my next couple of days.
"Honey..." He tried something, but we both knew there's no way out of this.
"Stop! No need for explanation. I saw everything I needed to see. I packed my bag and I'm going to Amy's. My lawyer will be in touch with you." I couldn't even look at him anymore. I took the box out of his still frozen hand for evidence of course and tried to walk past him.
"Lili, it's not what you think..." He tried again by taking my arm but I just shrugged him of.
For someone who was trying to explain himself to his wife of five years, he didn't seem too affected by the pictures. And that hurt like a bitch.
"Save it, Liam. Like I said no need for this. Lawyers Are the only ones I'll Talk about you from now on. Hope it was worth it!" I took my bags near the door, which he just saw, and that's when I saw a bit of panic in his eyes. Keys, bags i a bitter goodbye later I was in my car on my way to rest of my life.
