Life?
Life? I never understood the meaning of this word. It's probably my fault because I didn't live my life like other teenagers. I was always surrounded by conflicts between my parents. It was my fault for everything bad they did. I wasn't a loved child, even though I craved their affection. After all the yelling, arguing, and hitting, I found myself emotionless. I finally realized that it wasn't my fault, it was theirs. Maybe I should have become cruel like them, so they could see what it's like to be like that.*I told myself.*
At the age of 19, I decided to move on my own. I found a small cabin in the forest near the city. It was good because my workplace was not far from there. I packed all my things and left without saying goodbye to my parents. When I got to the cabin it was already evening so I quickly made my bed and went to sleep without any thought. In the morning I brushed my teeth and face, and then I went to work. I've been working at a gas station since I was 18, quite disappointing, but it's all I can afford right now.
- Oh, good morning, Luna! I haven't seen you for a few days, is everything okay? - Good morning, Mill! Well.. um.. Yes, everything is fine now! *Ugh, I can't even talk properly to the boy I'm interested in, I'm probably destined to die alone..*
A few hours passed, but no customer showed up. Luna and Mill were reading dusty books they had almost forgotten about. Luna looked up from her book to see Mill. He had thick brown hair and black eyes that sparkled in the light. His figure was tall and lean, but his shoulders were broad. Luna was short and skinny, with blond hair and blue eyes. But what Luna didn't know was that Mill's feelings weren't too different from hers either.
-Are you free after work? Maybe we could grab some drinks and watch the sunset.
Luna froze, because it was the first time Mill had made such an offer, but unfortunately it wasn't the right moment.
- I'm sorry, but I can't make it tonight.
The shift was over. It was quite late, and Luna, who didn't have a car, had to call a taxi. She waited and waited, but there was no sign of the taxi. After an hour of waiting, it arrived. The car was small with narrow windows, and the driver was an old man with an angry expression on his face.
It gave me chills, but I had no other options to get home. After a few minutes, he asks me:
- Do you prefer heat or cold?
All I could think about is that he is not in his right mind, I didn't want to piss him off ,so I just answered. -I prefer cold.
After that he didn't make a sound. Another few minutes passed and then he stopped the car saying he had no more fuel. I tried to stay calm, but it was hard. When I looked at him again he smiled at me. He had his right hand behind his back, I was too stressed to realize that he was actually hiding a knife and wasn't the taxi driver. I don't know what happened at that moment, I know I'm not afraid of death, but I still fainted.
It was all black, I couldn't see anything, but I could feel something slowly flowing. It was my blood, I didn't realize because I couldn't feel anything. I couldn't even move or speak. All I could do was hear the sound of the car, so he is still driving. After he stopped the car he picked me up and took the cloth from my eyes. He looked at me with lust and then tied me to a wooden cross. I couldn't move as if I was paralyzed which made me think if he drugged me.
*Why is my fate so fucked up? Why me? Have I done anything good in this life? If only I had known that life could be so cruel. I would have been the one to kill. That's right.., I hate humans.*
- You are the perfect one for this! No one could have been more perfect! I will sacrifice you so that I can live forever.
*Live forever, huh?* At that moment something inside me changed. A dark side I didn't know about took control of the blood flowing through my veins. Even my mind, causing only cold and dark thoughts.
- Are you ready for what is about to happen, princess?
- I wish I could kill you to destroy your dream and see you lose your mind with your last breath. Those words left my mouth before I could realize. But only pain was about to come after.
He started breaking a bone in every part of my body. Blood was flowing all over me, I even started to see red. I couldn't think straight at that moment, but I definitely wanted to kill that bastard. He cut off my legs from the knees, my arms from the elbows and as I looked at him smiling with pleasure my vision began to blur. I knew my last breath was approaching. I could feel my body starting to feel cold and when I looked up it started to snow. It was for my last moment of life when he appeared in my mind again.
Oh, my dear Mill. Would things have been different if I had agreed to go with you? - I said ,taking my last breath leaving this world.
