Prologue
“Busisiwe!”
My roommate’s voice echoed through the room, snapping me from my deep sleep. For a moment, I thought the house was on fire, but then I heard my alarm blaring. I’m not a light sleeper, so it usually takes something loud to wake me up.
“Are you sure you’re normal? Your alarm’s been ringing in your ears, and yet, you were sleeping so soundly,” Xoli teased.
“I don’t know about that, Xoli, but thanks for waking me up.”
With that, I headed to the shower. Today was going to be a long day with back-to-back classes.
I am Busisiwe Zungu, a third-year BCom Accounting student at the University of the Free State. I’m 21 years old and originally from Witbank, Mpumalanga. I have four siblings on my mother’s side and two on my father’s side. I live with my mother, stepfather, and siblings, while my biological father resides in KwaZulu-Natal. There’s not much to say about me, but I’m sure you’ll enjoy the ride.
