Half-time Hearts = Full-Time Characters
"I'm so glad I ventured into NK's short story, bridging her ongoing series together! Aptly titled, Half-Time Hearts, this story gives us a beautiful, yet painful glimpse into two people's full hearts. Makayla, a sports YouTuber who happens to be autistic, and Aiden, a wounded football player who's trying to make it to the NFL, are at the center of this heartfelt tale. NK's beautiful and near perfect writing style makes it possible to read this story without having to have read the first one, though I promise, if you don't, you'll want to soon thereafter! Love and loss (in romance, friendship, family, career) are such a part of humanity. NK captures the depths of those emotions so well. I found myself rooting for our protagonists from the get-go, then crying for them throughout! NKWest, you're absolutely right - life is gray, and that's what makes it full and beautiful! 🖤 Excellent work and I can wait to read more! I highly recommend! 💖💖💖 "

"The book is well written, but just felt so heavy in the end. I always love reading something that brings smile at the end. But then again, the author said there is a sequel."
