Chapter One
The Loss of My Mate
Daniel
6 Months later……
6 months ago, I was the happiest man in the world, because my mate Raine and I were expecting our first child. But she was taken from me after she gave birth to our child. She made me promise that I would live on for our sweet baby girl, Charlotte. It is what Raine wanted to call her when she saw her. I was holding her in my arms with my mate Raine holding us both in her arms. She said she loved me, no matter what happens. She kept repeating it to me after she took her last breath.
I was heartbroken when she left me with our newborn baby girl, Charlotte. I didn’t know how I was going to take care of our daughter. Or if I could live on without her by my side to help me?
But I did promise I would live on for my sweet little cupcake. I have been in bed for days, smelling my mate's scent that was still there. Because I was afraid of losing her scent and her altogether. But I wasn’t the only one who m her; my family lost a daughter and sister, and my pack lost their Luna. My daughter would never meet her wonderful and lovely mother. But I will tell her every day how wonderful she was and that she loved her so much. When she was pregnant with her how she told her story to help settle her down in her belly. I loved Raine so much, and she meant the world to me, too.
Life was good to be hard, raising my sweet little girl, who is now 6 months old, without her, but I have family helping me. They all said that they would help me take care of her, and they really did. I really appreciate their help and support in any way they have so far. Because it was hard juggling being a single parent and being the alpha of my pack, with all the duties I had to do. I also had my pack helping me out, too. I have this really big family all around me, helping with everything.
I had a couple of paintings done of her, one is hanging up in my office, and the other one is hanging in the nursery.
So that my sweet daughter Charlotte could see her mother looking down on her every day of her life. If only my sweet daughter Charlotte could see her mother looking down on her every day of her life, and when the time comes. If she ever asks me about who that lady is in the painting, I can tell her that it is her mother, who is called Raine White and who loved her every day of her life. But she is now with the moon goddess, who is called Selene, and that Mummy is looking down on us from there. And I bet she is smiling happily, knowing that you are here with me, Daddy, I would tell her.
