New school? Check. New friends? Maybe. New drama? Undoubtedly. Mikaela Young is well familiar with being on the move but nothing could have prepared her for Locksbridge, a small town in the middle of nowhere where disproportionately terrible things seem to happen. To her in particular. The only saving grace? She thinks she may have found a real-life superhero. A silvery vigilante who repeatedly comes to her rescue, complete with powers she can’t quite explain. The thing is, superheroes don’t exist. At least not in Mikaela’s version of reality. But she is about to have her already complicated life turned upside down because the more she tries to stay away, the closer to danger she gets. So much for a problem-free, quiet life. Superhero or not, she is stuck in a dangerous game she never wanted to play but desperately needs to win. Her fate and that of those closest to her depend on it.
