Prologue
Mireya's Pov
I wasn’t supposed to be here.
In this dusty village where cows outnumber humans, where there’s no Wi-Fi, and where people stare at me like I fell from the sky.
I came here because I got rejected.
Because Kael didn’t want me.
Because for the first time in my life, I didn’t get what I wanted.
So I ran.
And somehow ended up in a place I can’t stand, with a boy who won’t even speak to me.
Literally.
He doesn’t talk. Not because he’s rude. Because he can’t.
And now, I don’t know what’s worse, the silence around me… or the noise in my head.

Naveen's Pov
I didn’t expect her to stay.
People like her don’t last in places like this.
She walked in with loud perfume, loud shoes, and loud thoughts, the kind that leak through even when someone’s quiet.
She reminded me of everything I left behind.
That should’ve been enough to ignore her.
But she didn’t walk away when I stayed silent.
She tried to speak in a language I thought no one remembered.
And that…
was the first time I didn’t feel completely invisible.
