PROLOGUE
Prologue
A person spends about a third of their life asleep—on average, that’s 25 years. But no one really thinks about what we’re actually doing all that time. Resting our bodies? Sure. But our minds? And if we are resting, then what are dreams?
I know, most people think they don’t dream. But that’s not true. You dream every 90 minutes, and if you don’t wake up during the dream, you won’t remember it. The ones you do remember are usually nightmares—because those are the ones that wake you up.
A nightmare was the rst dream I ever had.
So… do we really do nothing while we sleep? Our minds keep working, even unconsciously. But is that all? What about the soul? It can’t rest—its time will come only when we fall into the eternal sleep. So where does it go now?
I never really thought about it. But I always knew I was different. How else do you explain the fact that I had never dreamed at all?
And when I nally did… my life changed completely.
I’m no longer just an ordinary girl.
I am a bridge—between dreams and reality.
