Chapter 1

The snow had stopped falling, but the blood hadn’t dried.

I, Rikuya, was given a case of a woman who was murdered last night—Eira Yume. I had just returned to work after my psychological treatment. My superior gave me this case out of pity, to help me ease back in.

Today, I’m going to the victim’s home to investigate further.

I took my old coat and reached the destination. I went inside the house and started investigating the victim’s personal items—pictures, her room, attic... but something was odd. I was having déjà vu, which gave me a headache. I guess I was just too stressed.

It was getting late, so I went home to rest. I realized the case hadn’t progressed even a little. I went to my bed and closed my eyes.

A scene flashed through my mind—a woman screaming my name, blood, and pieces of glass shattering all over.

I opened my eyes... only to realize it was afternoon.

I had slept for 12 hours, and now I was late. I rushed to my office as fast as I could.

I didn't got any scolding, as there was no one who saw me coming . I opened my laptop on the desk and started finding details about her. I found out that she has a sister who is an art teacher in NCAD (National College of Arts and Design) College.

I went through the college website and found her contact there. I messaged her:

"Hi, this is Rikuya. I work on investigations. I don’t know if you know this or not, but I am investigating your sister’s case. Plz text as soon as you get this message"

After an hour, a message arrived saying:

"Hello. I am Liora Yume, Eira Yume’s sister. I was also trying to get in contact with you, so if you don’t have any problem, can we meet tomorrow at Riverstone Bridge, near Deerpak Park at 6:00 PM?"

I replied back saying sure, it’s late. So I directly went home and slept—but not peacfully
