Trina is still angry with me, so I let her win when we train in the pit. But that makes her more angry.

Your father makes me have sessions with Elder Kevin. He said that I am as good at linking as you were. That made me sad.

I had a dream. In the dream and not in real life, Vinnie and Cara made a secret pit in the forest. Luca found it and snitched to my mother. Vinnie and Cara were punished. Only in my dream, not in real life.

Don’t let the ninjas ruin your mood. They’re a pain in the…your mother says I shouldn’t finish the sentence because it’s rude. (Even though she is the one reading my letter over my shoulder.)

Keep Silas safe. He is an idiot and when he comes back, I will kill him.

Dear Clint,

Since you left, we have all been worried sick about you, and the only solace we have is that you are with the young ones.

We heard from Nevah about what happened when you reached the training camp and we can’t believe that she is marked and mated to the kingdom’s supplier! What a way to find a goddess-given?!

Apparently, he has a pre-approved procreation grant and with Nevah’s next heat only a month away, Vera is fretting that her daughter will have to navigate her first pregnancy alone. So when you go in the field, please keep an eye on her.

I miss you a lot.

Mr. Alpha gave us a gard hut and said it was our temprary pack house. I now live there with Vinnie, Cara and Grace. It is a lot of fun as we get to play all day long. Except for when we have to learn things.

I like learning things. I learnt about planets today. I’m so glad you are on the same planet as us.

I miss you. When will you come back? Come back soon. Vinnie and Cara keep getting punished and then I get left alone. But Grace makes me do things with her when I have no one to play with. Grace is pretty. I want purpul hair like her when I grow up.

I hope you are okay.

I worry about your well-being and dread your future assignments while all of us await your return.

I wish things could have been different and you could have stayed back. But I understand why you made the decisions that you did.

But I have always been selfish. And I am selfishly hoping that when you come back, you can bring yourself to give me a second chance at being the kind of mother that you deserve.

Nothing can change what I did and I will never justify my behaviour towards you because it was inexcusable for a mother to treat her child like that. But I was a child myself when I couldn’t provide what you needed from me because of my inability to see beyond myself. I wish I could turn back time and fix things but as I can’t, I wish for more time with you to get a chance to make amends. If you let me.

Dear Dina,

When mum told us that all of us have to write to at least one wolf in the army, I wasn’t happy. But then I pulled your name out of the bowl and now I am very happy that I get to write to you.

I wish you and the ninjas didn’t get picked out for combat and got to work in the army camp like Toby and the others. But I feel like that is also a good thing. You will finally get to be an awesome fighter and don’t have to act weak like you had to when my father was the Alpha.

Everyone here is fine. They get to live in tents. But we live in the small pack house with Aunt Vera and Sara and even though Grace came to live with us, it is always very noisy here. We have to do chores and Vinnie and I hate that but Grace does chores too and she is our next Alpha so we have no choice.

Other than the chores, we get to play and run a lot and all we have to do is study for a few hours. But it gets a bit boring sometimes so Vinnie and I keep everyone entertained. Sometimes everyone laughs but sometimes we get punished. Which isn’t fair but it’s still fun.

I love studying and learning new things. Luna Ella said that I’m the fastest learner she has ever seen and my writing is the best out of all the children. So now I learn new words every day.

All of us say a prayer for your safe return every day before dinner. (We have to sit together at a table and eat with forks and knives everyday.) Mum said that she doesn’t want any of us to forget that we are safe because of all of you.

Please write back once you go on your assignments and tell me about the human things that Silas gets to see for the first time. Especially his first car ride.

I think you’re so brave for volunteering. When I grow up, I want to be like you and go fight in the army.
