Chapter 1
*Melody’s Pov*
“Being a university 200 level students isn’t easy. Infact life itself is not easy. It could have been easier if I was doing home school. Ugh!” I complained as Stella, my best friend since kindergarten, stroked my back calmly.
“Aren’t you not doing to become a lawyer to avenge your parents’ death?” Sarah asked calmly which is true.
My parents are hardworking people. My dad is a business and had everything. He won’t let my mom go out and just spoil us rotten. We were happy and grateful. Until the night mare began... my dad worked with some business tycoon which ended up badly and they filed a lawsuit which those business men lost eventually. On my 10th birthday on our way home from Disneyland two SUV cars followed. Mind you. To get to our house you have to pass a bridge and two hills (second one is near a river). One the second bridge the second SUV car came out of the short cut and hit dad’s car with extreme force. The force made dad’s car tyre to loose balance ending up rolling over to the river. I couldn’t calculate how high it was.
We finally landed on the road but upside down. In the middle my eyes flashed on one of the men wearing black and had a sunny-dark tattoo on his arm. Then I could her faint sounds as if someone was calling for help then it was dark.
I woke up in a hospital. Heart monitor beeping rapidly, doctors walking in and out of the corridors like flies looking for food.
“Oh good you’re awake!” One of the doctors responded while checking my vitals. I wanted to speak but couldn’t because of the breathing tube in my mouth.
“You had an accident. A fatal one. You’re the only the one that survive. Your parents...
The doctor looked at me with a sympathetic look.
“I’m glad that you are alive although you have some damages which we have stitched already” Doctor added.
It took me two and half months to recover from the stitches and since I am not 18 years yet I do not have the right to dad’s property therefore I have to live with Uncle Marcus (Dad’s brother). As I stepped out of the car I looked at the mansion. Although Uncle Marcus is rich my dad is two times more richer than him. So I stayed with him till I was 18. I wrote a list of what will happen in the future and finding the killer to my parent’s death is one of them. Trust me.
