Chapter 1

In a small city, there was a school named Shadow Bell High School. Four best friends studied there: Clara, Sophie, Mira, and Kiyana. They were always together – sharing lunch, helping with homework, and laughing.

One morning, the principal, Miss Ravenwood, announced, “Tomorrow, we will open the old school building. But no one should go inside. It’s very old and might be dangerous.”

The four friends got curious. Sophie smirked and whispered, “Let’s check what’s there after school.”

The next afternoon, when all the students left, Clara, Sophie, Mira, and Kiyana went toward the old building. A huge iron door stood half-open, creaking softly in the wind.

Inside, the air smelled of dust. Old posters peeled from the walls. Broken chairs, and a dusty board hang at the front. On the board, mysterious words were written:

“This place is closed. Only time can open it.”

Mira asked, “What does that mean?”

Suddenly, a cold wind blew through the hallway.

BANG! — the big iron door got shut!

Clara rushed to the door and pushed hard — but it was locked tight.

Kiyana pulled out her phone. “No signal…”

Clara’s voice trembled, “Why did the door lock? How do we get out?”

Sophie took a deep breath. “Maybe this place really has a secret. And now… we’re part of it.”

As the hallway grew darker, the four friends realized — they were trapped.

And the mystery was just beginning.

Inside the old building, Sophie, Clara, Mira, and Kiyana stood frozen. The air felt colder, and their footsteps echoed on the dusty floor.

“We need to find another way out,” Clara whispered.

They walked down the long hallway. The walls were cracked, and old class photos hang crooked on the walls. Suddenly, they heard it — a soft whisper.

“Did you hear that?” Sophie asked, her eyes wide.

Mira shivered. “It’s coming from that room…”

Kiyana, the bravest, pushed the door open. The room was empty, but the whispering grew louder. It sounded like a voice inside the walls.

They all pressed their ears against the cold wall.

“Help… help…” the whisper said faintly.

Kiyana stepped back. “Is someone trapped?”

Sophie said calmly, “Let’s check the next room.”

They ran to the next classroom, hearts pounding. Inside, they saw something strange — on the chalkboard, fresh words appeared by themselves:

“The key is near the clock.”

Mira gasped. “Did you see that?! The board just wrote by itself!”

Clara whispered, “There’s a clock in the hallway…”

Without wasting time, they hurried to the hallway clock. Behind it, they found a small key, covered in dust.

Sophie took it. “Let’s see if this fits the door.”

But just as they turned to leave, the lights flickered.

And the whisper came again — louder this time:

“Don’t go… stay…

The girls froze. The mystery was growing deeper. Just then Sophie stared at the blackboard, heart pounding.

“Who wrote that?” she whispered.

“I didn’t see anyone,” said Mira. Her voice was low, shaky.

The chalk lay on the floor, still rolling slightly. As if someone had just dropped it.

Clara walked slowly toward the board. “Maybe someone is hiding here. A prank, maybe?”

She looked behind the teacher’s desk. Empty.

Behind the cupboard. Empty.

“Guys…” Kiyana pointed to the windows. “Look outside.”

They all turned. The windows were no longer showing the playground.

Instead, all they saw was mist. Thick, white fog swirling outside like a storm. They couldn’t even see the trees anymore.

“This is not normal,” Sophie said. “We’re not just locked in... I think we’re in another place.”

Just then, a bell rang — the same school bell, but slower… and echoing.

Ding... dong... ding... dong...

They all looked around.

“There’s no electricity here. How did that ring?” Clara asked.

Kiyana was near a cupboard. she opened it.

Inside were old school bags… tiny shoes… lunchboxes. All covered in dust.

“They’re from Class 7B,” Mira said. “The one that disappeared?”

Sophie opened one of the notebooks inside. A name was written on the first page:

“James lock’’– Class 7B – Roll #4 – 1999”

But the ink… was still wet.
