Summary

Ko Gyi Min was once a young man full of promise brilliant, determined, and driven by a dream of becoming a lawyer. Raised in poverty by loving parents who sacrificed everything for his education, his life was rooted in hope. He found love with Su Su Hlaing, a gentle soul who believed in his ambition, and together they welcomed their daughter, Su Yin, into a life filled with warmth and purpose. But fate was not kind. As debt and tragedy pulled his world apart, Ko Gyi Min found himself fleeing from everything he loved, haunted by grief and questions without answers. In search of escape or perhaps redemption he boarded a ship that would never reach its destination. When the vessel is wrecked at sea, Ko Gyi Min awakens on the shore of an uncharted island. Isolated, wounded, and burdened by memories, he must learn to survive with nothing but his will and a flicker of hope. Soon, he discovers he is not alone, another survivor, U Myo Zaw, emerges from the wreckage. Together, they form a quiet bond, enduring nature’s trials, hunger, and time with resilience and brotherhood. Through raw survival and fragile connection, the island becomes more than a place of exile, it becomes a reflection of the past, a test of strength, and a space where memory is carved into wood and hope is kept alive, one day at a time. There Will Be Tomorrow is a moving story of endurance, friendship, and the enduring power of love, both remembered and imagined. It explores the beauty of human connection and the silent strength it takes to carry one's story, even when the world stops listening.

Note!!!

Dear Reader,

My name is Daniel Naw Lawn, and I’m a student from Myanmar with a deep love for writing and reading. This novel is my very first work, a story that carries my heart, my late nights, and everything I had to give.

It was inspired by a powerful Burmese novel titled

“ဓားတောင်ကိုကျော်၍ မီးပင်လယ်ကို ဖြတ်မည်” by မြသန်းတင့်,

a story about three men stranded on an island, fighting to survive. That novel moved me deeply, and it sparked something inside me, a desire to explore grief, memory, and the quiet strength of the human spirit through my own voice.

And so, There Will Be Tomorrow was born.

I wrote it with all the sincerity and emotion I could offer. It means so much to me, not just as a story, but as a symbol of hope, love, and the endurance of the soul even in the darkest places.

Now, I hand this story, this treasure over to you.

I truly hope it brings you something: a moment of reflection, a tear, a sense of wonder, or simply a quiet hour well spent. If it touches you, I’d be grateful if you’d subscribe to my profile, share your thoughts, or even gently point out the places I can grow.

Your words help me become better.

Thank you for reading.

Wishing you light and peace always.

Warm regards,

Daniel Naw Lawn
