Chapter. 1- "The friend in me"
The little child tucked away in his bed kicks and groans.
Buried up to his neck with the comfortable restrains of blankets and smooth sheets. Now, becoming a greater foe to contend with as they wrap and catort him tightly. As the dealings of a extreme night terror normally demonstrates as such.
His movements become more sporadic and more volatile with a steady attention seeking sound effects of more groans and child whimpers. The night terror he was experiencing must have been a real doozy to bring on such an effect to a child as daredevilish then he. As his guardian angels he idolized watched on from there postered paper locked in on their perspective stances of roles. Ranging from his favorite movies and t.v shows watching, from every angle of the bedroom.
The sounds the young child was making was becoming more worrisome and more dangerous. As now being under a heavy sleep he was mouthing words. The type of words that makes one thinks of the battleground a child's mind really is.
"Get away...."
"Stopp"
Till finally with a sudden fear punched driven action that was undergone in his dream. The child screams out.
"NOOOOOOOOO"
At the very top of his lungs. In the bare moment of it being in the dead middle of the night the commotion, awoke the child's neighbor. The one that was next to his bedroom, his older brother "Logan". "Woah-Woah!" Logan let out a muffled muzzle of a disarmer as he kicked down the door to get to his brother before, his fear would wake up their whole house.
And that was something personally "Lou" doesn't want to happen considering their mother was stone cold drunk out in their living room. Smelling of the hard worker she was and the liquid reward she gave herself spilt, all over her.
"RAIDEN! Ray!"
Logan placed his hand on his brothers-soaked t-shirt of his pj's to shake him awake. It only took a good solid two times before the little kids eyes shot awake. Locking eyes with his older sibling before he cried a little.
He raised up quickly and embraced his big brother as though he was trying to perform a Mma move. Logan chuckled as he embraced his sibling back consoling him to the best of his ability. Providing him something he himself never received from the whole hierarchy of the inner family. "Now let's relax and talk to me..."
He said in a more parental tone before he and his little brother unleashed their personal holds on one another. His baby brother soaked and fully awake with drying tears rolling down his face looked at his brother.
"I had a dream, Logan. A dream about that "Wolf from Morgan town". "
"You mean that campfire story? About that werewolf? Seriously?"
The soft lighting of the room made this little talk between siblings all the better. To help mend the broken emotional wounds that was sustained by young Raiden's mind. As an embarrassing reply the eight-year-old only inhaled a strong amount of mucus and snot thar was blocking his nasal pathway. Logan smiled and then picked up his sibling with ease. Placing him right out of his bed and next to his blue and white dresser to start finding him dryer clothes.
"You know that story was fake right? It was a spur of the moment entertainment stunt that was supposed to do its job. And you know what job that was, this Raiden. This."
"So, you didn't get?"
"Not the slightest. Not even for a moment. We just have to shame old Ruth Conners for her excellent storytelling hmm" logan smiled at his brother as he found the new pajama set helping him dress accordingly. A proud tradition that Logan had always done for Raiden since he was born-being a parent when he was only the older sibling. Little "Ray" smiled with delight as he noticed his dryer set of clothes were that of his favorite VHS movie. "Toy Story".
"Woody and Buzz!!!"
"Ha yep!"
"Logan...what's that song?"
"What song?"
"That song at the end of the movie?"
Logan stopped and was filled with embarrassment as he knew what his younger sibling was referencing. His face felt warm with regret as he muttered the title to the bothered young one. "You got a friend in me."
Raiden's eyes lit up with glee and happiness upon a global scale. He starts to repeat the lyrics that logan had already broken into with a hip furry.
Both siblings start singing in a muffled united front.
"You got a friend in me...oh you got a friend in me. The road might seem rough a-head and your miles a-way from your nice warm bed. Just remember what your old pal said.."boy you got a friend in me"
As logan ended the song with a funny onslaught of tickles and hugs to shower his brother in. Raiden didn't fight them as it was the perfect period to be placed on this moment.
A light stir and a crack of the microwave from the kitchen sent both boys into a frozen statue. Hearing their mother awake from her half-drunken slumber and cooking something that, may have fit her fancy gave them both chills.
Logan knew that better than his younger sibling.
So, he and Raiden locked eyes as Logan then motioned for him to lay back down so he, could go back to sleep. Raiden smiled again now, filling the overwhelming joy of feeling loved.
Logan smiled again as he slunk back over to the closed bedroom door. Opening it slowly (with a minimal grip to minimalize sound) making sure their mother doesn't hear him.
He looks back with a Suttle nod of his head before he slipped back out into the cold dark hallway. Then, finally popping back into his room next door. Walking slowly back to his disturbed bed covers and the slight disturbed ferret of his. Watching from his white barred cage to see what his master was up too.
"Oh, I'm ok Casper. Go back to sleep." Logan said in a low grumble to his pet. He flopped back upon his bed drifting back into his own personal dreams.
