Chapter 3

Day 15. There’s no longer a line between the rich or the poor. Anyone can die. And anyone can be the next killer. --- Victims keep falling one by one, without warning. The rich students. The smart ones. Even those who looked the most innocent… were eliminated. The school now feels like a war zone. The hallways are filled with graffiti of regret. Lights are dead in many areas. The auditorium has turned into a refugee camp. And the cafeteria has been abandoned for days. Then… the system announced a new rule: > “Starting today, only the Master has the right to live longer.” “The Master will not be revealed. But they will dictate part of the game.” Everyone looked at each other. Who is the Master? No one knew. Not even the Master themselves… who acted like they were nobody. --- Meanwhile… Clarissa’s gang began forming an Extreme Survival Faction. They stole leftover food from the teacher’s lounge— And only shared it with their own members. > Clarissa: “I don’t care who dies, as long as it’s not one of us. If someone’s useless… throw them out.” Rini (member): “But that’s cruel, Clar—” Clarissa: “Cruel decisions belong only to those who have guts. And right now, that’s me.” --- New Victims: New Rules Two more students died today. But strangely, only one body was found. The other… vanished. Gone without a trace. Even their name was erased from last night’s voting records. The system issued a warning: > “Uncontrolled deaths detected. System error. Execution will become random if continued manipulation is detected.” --- Flashback & Psychological Pressure Davin sat on the stairwell at the back corridor, his hands trembling. The faces of his dead friends flashed before his eyes. > Davin (monologue): “If I stay silent… I’ll die. But if I make a move… everyone might turn on me.” “I need allies. But who can still be trusted?” --- Davin’s Plan Begins Davin started approaching three people: Eren, Kirana, and Adis. But their responses… were cold. > Davin: “I need you. This isn’t about who lives or dies anymore, it’s about who's behind all of this.” Adis: “You show up now and ask for teamwork? We’ve been stuck here for almost two weeks, Vin.” Kirana: “You sure this isn’t just some lame excuse to get close to me?” Davin: “If it is, I might as well kill myself right now.” Silence. Davin’s eyes looked dead serious. His breathing was heavy. > Eren: “Fine. We’ll hear your plan. But one wrong move… and you’re out.” The four of them started discussing—cautiously. But none of them realized… someone was watching. Heri, a member of Rey’s gang, had been listening the entire time— Hiding behind an old bookshelf in the library. --- Rey’s Betrayal An hour later, Rey stood on the main table in the auditorium. His face was full of triumph. > Rey: “Everyone, listen up! I’ve got something to say. There’s a traitor among us. And that person… is Davin.” Kirana froze. Eren stood up instantly. Adis clenched his fists. > Rey: “He was caught planning an escape—on his own! He tried to drag Kirana, Eren, and Adis into making a private way out— Only for themselves! He was going to leave all of us behind!” The crowd grew noisy. Students started yelling. > “Seriously? Davin did that?” “No wonder I saw them whispering all the time!” “KIRANA’S IN ON IT TOO?!” “They were gonna ditch us!!!” --- Confrontation Full of Accusations Davin stepped forward. But before he could speak, Rey pointed at everyone. > Rey: “I’ve got proof. Heri here heard them directly!” Heri: “They said they were gonna mess with the system— make the voting worthless. Even… kill someone if necessary.” Kirana stood up. Her voice trembled, but she stayed firm. > Kirana: “I never said I’d kill anyone.” Eren: “They’re lying. Rey’s just scared of losing control.” Adis: “You really wanna trust the guy who blew up the chem lab last night?” The whole room went quiet. > Rey: “Let everyone see who the real liar is. Starting tonight… I nominate Davin for the next execution.” --- 🩸 Maximum Tension > Davin: “If you think I’m a threat… go ahead. But remember one thing— You’ve all just been manipulated. By someone more evil than the system itself.” “Rey’s not just playing you… He’s playing the entire game.” “And if you don’t realize that now… Tomorrow, it won’t be me who dies. It’ll be all of us.” Night returned. The clock showed 11:45 PM. One by one, the students stared at their phone screens. Fingers trembled. Eyes dulled. The school felt no different from a prison in hell. They knew—fifteen minutes from now, one or two lives would disappear. Tense. Silent. Only the sound of crickets and the night wind slipped through the half-open classroom windows. On the second-floor corridor, Clarissa stood among her friends, who had begun to suspect one another. Her faction, once solid, was now starting to fracture. When life and death were determined by voting, there was no more room for loyalty. > “We need to take over the votes. We can’t rely on morality in a place like this,” Clarissa whispered sharply, eyeing her friends. Unbeknownst to them, Clarissa had already taken all the phones from her faction members—and had begun manipulating tonight’s vote. Her target: Kirana. --- Meanwhile, in the dark corner of the school staircase, Rey stood with his arms crossed. His gaze swept across the night sky, thinking only one thing: How do I stay alive... until the end? Footsteps approached. It was Ronald—cold expression, barely speaking. Rey: “Ronald.” Ronald: “What?” Rey: “I’ve got an idea. Will you help me... if I make sure you survive too?” Ronald turned and glanced at the phone in his hand. Ronald: “Talk.” And that night, two people with rotten ambition made a silent pact. --- At the back staircase of the school, Davin sat alone, deep in thought. His eyes were heavy. His face still bruised from yesterday. But what haunted him wasn’t the pain—it was the question spinning in his head: > Who’s really behind this sick game? This doesn’t feel like punishment... it feels like an experiment. Ronald approached. Ronald: “Dav, I need to tell you something. It’s important. Empty classroom, second floor.” Davin: “Now?” Ronald: “Now.” Davin hesitated, but eventually stood and followed Ronald to the classroom. But before he could even speak— The classroom was pitch black. BANG! “ARGHHH!” Suddenly, Alinski, Bizer, Modrat, and Rey jumped out from behind the desks and attacked him all at once. Punches. Kicks. A relentless ambush left Davin helpless. Blood dripped from his nose, his cheeks were swollen, his knees trembled. He tried to fight back, but their strength and numbers overwhelmed him. > “WHO ARE YOU???” Davin screamed, before a brutal kick to the stomach sent him crashing to the floor. Unconscious. His phone was taken by Ronald. Then—without anyone knowing—Davin’s vote was switched to target Diana, along with a fabricated accusation: A hidden killer with a dark secret. --- The Next Morning The school was quiet. The morning air felt strange. Then—a scream echoed across the schoolyard. > “OH MY GOD!!!” All the students rushed out to the yard. Their eyes locked on the flagpole. Diana’s body was hanging—partially burned. Her face charred. Her uniform torn. Her mouth open, as if she tried to scream... but never got the chance. Everyone froze. Adis dropped her books. Eren stood still. Kirana covered her mouth, eyes brimming with tears. Then, from atop the garden table, Rey’s voice rang out: > “I know you’re all in shock. But... don’t forget what I said yesterday.” “What do you mean?” asked one of the students. Rey smirked and pointed toward the crowd— One person was missing: DAVIN!!! > “Look. Who’s not here this morning? Who was plotting last night to save himself?” The murmurs began. > “Davin...?” “But Davin would never—” “I SAW HIM!!” Rey snapped. “I heard him myself—he wants to crash the system so he’s the only one left alive!” Panic spread. > “What if he’s the mastermind...?” “We’ll all die if he survives!” “Rey was right all along...” Rey held back a laugh. Cunning. Successful. He had twisted all the facts and pinned the blame on someone—someone still unconscious on the second floor. --- Meanwhile, Adis, Kirana, and Eren rushed to find Davin. > “This doesn’t make sense. Davin would never...” Kirana said. “Someone’s behind all this. We have to find him,” Eren replied. But before they could go far, a scream came from the direction of the back restroom. > “SOMEONE ELSE IS DEAD!!!” They all ran toward the source. Inside the girls’ bathroom, two bodies were found—both in horrifying condition. Members of Clarissa’s gang. Strangled necks. Phones destroyed. Meanwhile, Clarissa herself was found unconscious in the school garden. Eren’s eyes widened. Kirana froze. Adis trembled. > What’s really going on? They thought they knew who the enemy was. But this system... was far filthier, bloodier, and more cunning than they had imagined. Their footsteps echoed hastily along the cold school hallway. Kirana, Michelle, Eren, and Adis were running from one classroom to another. Adis: “He’s not in the art room!” Eren: “I checked the lab too—empty! Where the hell is Davin?!” Their minds were still haunted by the terrifying image—Clarissa’s two friends had been found dead in horrifying positions. In the girls’ bathroom. Michelle gritted her teeth. Michelle: “Clarissa’s missing, Davin’s MIA… this is spiraling out of control.” --- MEANWHILE – DAVIN WAKES UP Davin slowly opened his eyes. His head throbbed painfully like he’d been slammed against a concrete floor. He struggled to sit up in a chair in an empty classroom. Davin: “Ugh… my head… last night… I was attacked…” A blurry memory flashed—many hands pulling him into the darkness, chaotic noises… then blackness. He patted his pocket—his phone was still there. Nervously, he turned it on and… the screen displayed the latest voting result. Diana: 18 votes. Davin: “What the hell?! I haven’t even— I HAVEN’T VOTED FOR ANYONE!” He saw a notification sent at 11:56 PM from his own account: > "Vote: Diana Arsyad" Davin (snapping at himself): “Dammit! It must be Rey. No one else could’ve done this!” --- CLARISSA WAKES UP TOO Clarissa opened her eyes in the school’s backyard garden. Damp grass stuck to her cheek. She sat up, breathing unevenly. Her school uniform was rumpled and dirty. Michelle and a friend of hers rushed over. Michelle: “HEY! Clar! Where the hell were you last night? Two of our friends… are dead! Where were you?!” Clarissa blinked. Clarissa: “I… I don’t know. Last thing I remember, I was waiting in the hallway… then I got dizzy… and everything went black…” Her friend: “How did you end up sleeping in the garden?!” Clarissa looked pale. But not out of fear. More like… confusion. Michelle observed her: Clarissa’s face only showed mild surprise—as if she were faking the shock. Michelle (in her head): You’re hiding something, aren’t you, Clar? Why don’t you look sad, angry, or even hysterical? --- MEANWHILE – SCHOOL TOILET: TWO GROUPS CONFRONT EACH OTHER Rey’s gang laughed as Kirana and her friends showed up. Rey: “Well, look who’s here. Davin’s loyal fan club. Gonna defend the criminal again?” Kirana stepped forward. Kirana: “Watch your mouth, Rey. Not everything’s as easy to twist as your little voting system!” Rey smirked. Rey: “Should’ve known better than to trust Davin. If he didn’t tamper with the system, then who did?” Eren (furious): “You son of a— Don’t you dare accuse him like that!” Pushing broke out. Michelle and Adis jumped in to hold Eren back, while Rey’s gang looked ready to fight. Kirana (cold and firm): “Rey, you still owe me. Don’t make me bring that up now.” Rey looked stunned. There was a flicker of tension in his eyes. He stepped back. Rey: “Forget it. Let’s go.” Rey’s gang left first. But Rey’s face had changed. He was hiding something—panic… or guilt? --- KIRANA FINALLY MEETS DAVIN In the empty auditorium, Kirana and Davin finally came face-to-face. Davin was still unsteady, his face bruised with minor cuts. Kirana: “Davin! Where have you been?! Two people died last night, and you were nowhere to be found!” Davin: “I was set up. Last thing I remember, Ronald wanted to talk. Then… suddenly I was pulled into the dark by a bunch of people. I got beaten up, then blacked out.” Adis: “Ronald?!” Eren: “He’s with Rey’s gang, right?” Davin nodded. Davin: “And now I just found out… someone used my phone to vote for Diana. I didn’t even get to open it last night!” Michelle: “So it is possible. The voting system can be hacked or hijacked?” Kirana: “And Rey is the most likely suspect…” --- MICHELLE AND CLARISSA – RISING TENSION Michelle and Clarissa sat side-by-side on a bench in the hallway. Michelle (seriously): “I don’t get it, Clar. Two of our friends are dead, and you… you haven’t even cried. You didn’t even ask how they died.” Clarissa turned her head slowly. Her face was blank—but her lips curved into a strange smile. Clarissa: “If they’re dead… that means I wasn’t the one picked. That’s enough, right?” Michelle froze. A cold wave wrapped around her chest. For the first time since the game began, she felt afraid of her own friend. --- ENDING SCENE Kirana and Davin were making a plan. They would sneak into the teachers’ office that night. But later that evening, while everyone was gathered… The intercom suddenly came to life: > “Someone didn’t vote tonight. The consequence… will be immediate.” Silence fell. A few seconds later—a scream from the computer lab. Adis: “That… that was Ronald’s voice?!” They ran toward the room and found—Ronald hanging by a monitor cable, his eyes wide open in terror. On the computer screen, a message appeared: > “Don’t trust anyone. Not even your own friends.” The morning sky was grey. A drizzle blanketed the schoolyard like a thin fog refusing to fade. A scream echoed again from the direction of the computer lab. > “AAAKK!! THERE'S A BODY!! RONALD!!” Kirana and Davin, just stepping out of the school clinic, immediately ran toward the scream. Clarissa, still dazed, followed behind, along with Rey’s gang and the others. Inside the musty-smelling room, Ronald’s body hung from the ceiling, a computer cable wrapped around his neck. His eyes were open, his mouth agape—as if trying to say something before death claimed him. On the chair where he was assumed to have stood before hanging himself, a single sheet of paper was left: > DON’T TRUST ANYONE, NOT EVEN YOUR FRIENDS!!! But something felt off. Too neat. Too orchestrated. --- CLIMAX: Deadly Debate in the Computer Room Davin stepped forward, breathing heavily. Davin: “There’s no way he killed himself. I was just about to find him—to ask why he set me up last night. He knew something…” Rey (grinning): “Or maybe he knew who the mastermind was… and got told to ‘stay silent forever.’ Think, Vin—someone who knows that much wouldn’t survive long in a game like this.” Eren: “Why do you sound so happy Ronald’s dead, Rey?” Rey (shrugging): “I’m not sad. But hey, looks like he made his own choice. Look at the note.” Kirana (glaring): “Or you wrote it, Rey?” The air suddenly turned tense. Clarissa (flatly, softly): “Why is everyone pointing fingers? Isn’t this… just a game?” Michelle (sharply moving closer): “A game? Two of your friends are dead, Clar. We found you asleep like a corpse in the garden. You still think this is a game?” Clarissa (lowering her head, her voice sounding foreign): “Yeah… I don’t get it either… I feel like… I’m not even me…” Michelle (whispering to her friend): “I swear, Clarissa is hiding something.” Kirana: “Stop. Focus. Ronald is dead. And our numbers keep shrinking. This game… it’s breaking us from the inside.” --- THAT NIGHT: THE CRUEL VOTE CONTINUES Their phones buzzed again, all at once. The same mysterious app popped up. > [VOTING TIME: CHOOSE WHO WILL DISAPPEAR TOMORROW MORNING] “Remember, you're judging their sins.” No one spoke that night—only screens glowing with the faces of their friends. Trembling fingers hovered, unsure who deserved to be voted… but unwilling to die themselves. --- THE NEXT MORNING: A THUD AND BLOOD BENEATH THE ROOF The sky was clear, but the school felt colder than ice. Then came the loud crash from above. BRAKKKK!! All the students ran toward the courtyard. There, they saw Fardan’s body—lying in an unnatural position. His head smashed against concrete, blood pooling into strange patterns across the school ground. He had fallen from the second floor rooftop. His arm broken. His face shattered. His eyes wide open, staring at the sky as if holding a dark secret. Screams began to erupt. --- A NEW MESSAGE APPEARED ON THE VOTING APP: > [VOTED VICTIM: FARDAN] Past Sin: Killed his father, mother, and younger sibling at age 12. Case was closed as an accident caused by a fire. Future Sin: Would’ve massacred all the male teachers in this school, as revenge for the abuse he suffered from Herman and several others. The students were silent. The ticking of the clock felt like it split the air. Some cried. Some looked around with paranoid eyes. But Clarissa? Clarissa stared at Fardan’s body… then gave a faint smile. --- FINAL TWIST: A VOICE RECORDING IN CLASSROOM 12 SCIENCE-2 Davin walked into his old classroom, drawn by a soft sound coming from a flash drive that had switched on by itself. He pressed “play,” and heard Ronald’s voice—shaky, barely audible: > “If you're hearing this, it means I’m dead. I know who’s behind all of this. But I… I was scared. They’re not just a student. They used to be a victim too. But now… they’ve changed. Be careful, Vin… they’re very close to you.” The recording ended. Davin turned toward the door. Behind the classroom glass, Clarissa was standing—watching him. She smiled… then vanished into the sudden morning mist that enveloped the window. --- END OF CHAPTER 3: > One by one, they continue to fall. Not just because of the votes, but because their pasts are demanding justice. And the figure behind this twisted game… still walks among them. Silently. Without guilt. Driven only by one goal: > "Let every rotten thing in this place… be buried with blood."
