You're on my mind day and night, haunting my every thought, and on the tip of my tongue with every word I speak, so why can't I stop it?

In secret, you're all I watch and want. Scroll through all your photos and overload the download button; there's no need to hide the smile you bring me, so why can't I stop it?

A brief chance we pass by, I freeze and pray not to stumble on my words. Silent prayers battle inside my mind for a brush of your hand on mine, a handshake, or more. Your scent fills me with overwhelming joy that I needed more than life, so why can't I stop it?

Watching the sunset, I wonder where you are. As the moonlight dances, I imagine that the shadows are us dancing, gently held by your hands, safe from a fall. So, why can't I stop this?

Feeling ill and unable to move, I'm all alone. To my ultimate surprise, I freeze in giddy glee and haze. Why are you here? Are you here, or is this another fever dream?
