We're all locked up. Only the cage changes.

(En español abajo)

Life is a game with all kinds of moments:

Moments of happiness, sadness, grief, strength, celebration, joy...

But still, it’s a game:

A giant prison built by physical laws for everything…

At least until they arrive.

Uranus. It shows up and changes some rules, hacking the system.

But even the new rules it invents… are still rules, aren’t they?

Even if they’re new ones.

And so it goes until the end of time…

Old rules / new rules. Right / left. Tradition / progress. Straight / Drag Queen. No phone / Phone.

Then suddenly, Pluto arrives.

And it’s not that it changes things — it destroys them.

To start over from zero. To be reborn as something else,

a stronger, more powerful version.

And Neptune arrives too.

It comes to make fantasies (things beyond the human, beyond the prison) come true.

This one’s the hardest to understand,

because it doesn’t live in our mega-prison.

I guess it’s simply the magic of the world beyond ours,

visiting and coexisting from time to time in our prison,

creating unimaginable things here, along with Uranus and Pluto.

I think, for the sake of our mental health,

we should fall in love with our current prison,

even if we dream of a new one in the future.

We’re all locked up in our own prisons…

That’s just how it is.

At least until the day that trio shows up

with the decision already made — to change your prison,

to change your life.

But ONLY when they want and see fit.

Not when you want or think it’s time.

ONLY when they decide it’s the perfect timing.

Because we humans haven’t reached that level of celestial wisdom

to set a due date for our next prison break.

We just can’t — too many factors interfere,

some we don’t even understand.

We’re locked up until those three abductors show up,

with perfect timing, to unlock the door.

That’s why… better to love the prison you’re in.

So that your future self can be grateful,

and not carry the weight of a past self who chose to hate their present cage —

turning it into bad memories that stick with you to the grave.

But… sometimes it’s hard not to hate your current prison, right?

It’s hard not to feel frustrated and sad…

Because you’re trapped in a prison you want to escape NOW —

but the exit is not up to you.

Still… we gotta try.

Maybe not every day, though…

----

Ku_Rolet: The novel was good, and I really enjoyed reading it. I love the leads and their bond, but I have one question that confused me.
