The Great Cookie Caper- Odeta Rose

I baked some cookies late at night,

Hoping for a tasty bite.

But when I reached to grab a treat,

The cookies ran right off my sheet!

They hopped and skipped across the floor,

And dashed behind the pantry door.

I chased them ’round the kitchen nook,

Like a detective in a book.

One cookie tripped and took a spill,

I caught it quick—my cookie thrill!

But then the others gave a cheer,

“Catch us if you dare, my dear!”

So now I’m stuck in cookie chase,

With crumbs all over every place.

Next time I’ll bake just one small batch— Or hide the cookies from the catch!
