Almost Remembered

She was a recent graduate, just stepping into her new job.

Everything felt good. New. Calm.

She liked the work, the routine, the little smiles during tea breaks.

Life was simple. Peaceful. And for once, she was truly happy.

But that day… something felt different.

She was busy, typing inside the office like always. Focused.

She didn’t notice the noise at the entrance.

A boy had come.

The security guards stopped him at the gate, along with a madam from the office.

“I need to go inside!” he shouted.

“Please! Just once. I need to draw the design on her hand!”

They didn’t allow him in.

The madam gave a sharp look and signaled the guards to push him away.

“Please,” he begged, “this is my last chance! I promised her…!”

But no one listened.

He was pulled away toward the parking lot, still shouting the same words.

Even as he was dragged down the stairs, he didn’t stop.

Inside, she remained silent. Unaware. Still typing, still smiling.

Later, when she stepped out in the evening, she saw him.

He was waiting there.

He looked at her—like he knew her. Like he was holding something unfinished.

He walked closer, carefully.

“Don’t you remember me?” he asked softly.

“You said I could draw it… on your hand. Just one last time…”

She paused.

No memories. No recognition.

He slowly reached out his hand.

She looked at it.

And in that exact second—

She opened her eyes.

It was a dream.

Or at least… it felt like one.

But her hand…....
