Chapter 1

They met by chance—an online message, a shared interest, and soon, laughter across screens. She lived in Mumbai; he, in Delhi. What started as small talk grew into late-night confessions, morning goodbyes, and virtual dreams.

She was steady. Every message from her carried warmth and meaning. She wasn’t playing games—she wanted something real. To her, love was a decision, not just a feeling.

He was kind, funny, and attentive. But when it came to defining what they had, he hesitated. He loved talking to her, missed her voice, and felt his heart skip when she laughed. But commitment scared him. What if it didn’t work? What if he wasn’t enough?

She began to notice the pauses—the delayed replies, the uncertainty in his voice. Yet she stayed, hoping love would guide him.

One day, tired of overthinking, she messaged:

“I’m not asking for big promises. Just honesty. Tell me if your heart is with me, or if it’s just lost in the moment.”

He stared at the message for hours.

Finally, he typed:

“I love you. I don’t know what tomorrow holds, but I know I don’t want to lose you today. I’ve been confused… not about you, but about myself. But I’m ready to try—if you still are.”

She smiled through tears.

Love didn’t always arrive with certainty. Sometimes, it just needed someone to take the first brave step.
