What if the Sea God returned to the Sea?

Rafayel, my Sea God, returned to his expense

The ocean stirs at his feet, no longer silent.

It greets him like a kingdom bows to its king.

And he is every inch a king.

Mighty, merciless, the ocean bending to his will.

But beneath his crown, he is also the king of what was never kept

He is a monarch of broken promises,

A sovereign of scattered, empty words.

He is not only a God of the Sea,

But a God of destruction.

A destroyer. A thief.

And he took my heart with him

Or what the waves had not already worn away.

To every vow he never kept,

To all the things he said but never meant,,

He left me with silence,

The low hum of sorrow.

Now, only shadows remain,

And my heart, it breaks

Not all at once,

But slowly,

Deliberately,

Like fragmented shells giving way to the tide.

Yes... my Sea God.

The one I loved too deeply, too blindly.

He shattered me with the very hands

That once held me like I was precious.

It was all a lie, in the end.

A myth I chose to believe.

And the ocean....Even the ocean knew better.
