Chapter 1:“The Eyes That Should Have Died”
The rain had turned into a thunderstorm, but Y/N didn’t stop running.
Her heels were soaked, dress clinging to her skin, heart pounding louder than the rain. She cursed herself for taking the shortcut through that alley. If she’d just taken the longer route home, she wouldn’t have heard it.
The gunshots.
She pressed her back to the cold, damp wall, barely able to breathe. The sound of tires screeching echoed in the distance. Then—
A scream.
Cut short.
And silence.
She peeked around the corner. Just one glance. That’s all it took.
And her life ended in that moment.
At least, it was supposed to.
He stood there. Black suit soaked in rain. One hand holding a gun still pointed at a man slumped on the ground, blood mixing with water at his feet. The other hand slowly loosened his tie, unfazed.
Then he looked up.
Right at her.
Y/N froze. Her entire body went numb. Their eyes locked—and she felt it. That shift in the air. Like the entire world stopped breathing.
His stare wasn’t human. It was cold, unreadable, and sharp enough to slice her open without a touch. A dark smirk curled at the edge of his lips.
She turned to run.
But footsteps were already behind her.
A hand grabbed her wrist, yanking her backward. She kicked, screamed—
"Shhh," a voice breathed in her ear. "Scream, and I’ll let him put a bullet through your throat. Right now."
The voice wasn’t Taehyung’s. It was one of his men.
She was dragged back to the crime scene.
And there he was. Standing like a shadow carved out of night. His gun lowered. His eyes never blinking.
"Bring her closer," he said calmly.
Y/N struggled, terrified, her voice broken. “Please… I didn’t see anything, I swear—”
“You saw everything.”
His voice was deep. Calm. Terrifying.
Taehyung stepped closer, one slow step at a time, like a predator savoring fear. The rain dripped down his face, his hair slicked back. Even soaked in blood and water, he looked powerful. In control.
“I didn’t mean to—please let me go—” she cried, trembling, eyes wild with panic.
He tilted his head. Studied her.
"You have pretty eyes," he said.
"...Shame you used them to see something you shouldn’t have."
Her breath hitched.
Taehyung raised the gun.
Y/N gasped. A sob broke from her lips.
But then—he paused.
He stared deeper. Something flickered in his eyes. Interest. Curiosity.
A darker thought.
Slowly, he lowered the gun.
And smirked.
“No," he murmured. "Killing you would be too easy.”
She blinked through tears.
“I’ll do something worse.”
He turned to his men.
“Take her to the black villa. Clean her up.”
“W-What?” she whispered, voice shaking.
Taehyung stepped even closer. His hand reached up to her face—touching her cheek like it was porcelain. But his touch burned. Cold fingers, warm breath. Danger.
“You’re mine now,” he whispered. “You’ll wear white. You’ll say ‘I do.’ And when I break you… you’ll still belong to me.”

💍 Three Days Later...
Y/N stood in front of a mirror. Pale skin, red eyes, a white gown that didn’t feel like a wedding dream—but a funeral veil.
No one asked her. No one listened.
The doors opened.
Taehyung stood at the end of the aisle. Black suit. Black eyes. A gun on his waist and a ring in his hand.
She took a step forward…
And everything in her screamed to run.
