"This was a 4.2 read for me. The premise was interesting, with a human girl finding out her roommate was not just a man, but a gargoyle, a creature she knew little about. This should be my first time reading about a gargoyle, and it was fun. I loved how their relationship blossomed from roommates to “friends” then actual lovers. Griffin was a sweetheart, respecting her boundaries even when it hurts, and Tessa was even better. Bonus points go to her friend, Cam, who forever brings in the jokes. It’s a sweet slow burn spicy romance, but when the heat hits, it doesn’t stop. Which was fine at first, but after a while, I got tired of the constant sex. Almost like they were banging each other’s heads out in every chapter after they declared their love for each other, and it got boring real fast. I had to drop the book for a few weeks because each time I opened it, they were fucking. It also felt repetitive because there’s only so many ways you can fuck if you’re not introducing new kinks or stuff. For that reason, I had to lower the rating. Some of the spice scenes are skippable, which is what I ended up doing for most of the later ones. There were a few errors and name switches, but nothing to stop me from enjoying the story. If you like: - paranormal romance - whimsical/elements of magic - human x gargoyle - grumpy x sunshine - brooding cinnamon roll MMC - sweet and spicy - slow burn until it’s not then you’ll enjoy this. "
