Shashi Dream Foundation: Igniting Dreams Through Rural Education
The Shashi Dream Foundation (SDF), founded in 2018 by Harshal Dhoke, is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing free and quality education to underprivileged children in rural India. Named in honor of Harshal’s late mother, Shashikala, the foundation began in Katol, Maharashtra, and has since expanded to multiple villages across the Vidarbha region.
Harshal, the first student from his town to clear the IIT-JEE, was deeply aware of how education changed his life. He founded SDF with the belief that every child, no matter their background, deserves a fair chance to dream and succeed.
At the heart of SDF is Shashi Pathshala, a network of free learning centers that provide education from nursery to Class 6. These centers, located in Katol, Sawargaon, and Narkhed, are equipped with digital tools, smart TVs, and internet, ensuring children receive a modern and engaging education.
Beyond academics, SDF also focuses on career guidance and health:
Sahi Career Sahi Life introduces students to diverse career paths with the help of professionals.
Shiksha Campaign distributes notebooks and stationery.
Shashi Care supports menstrual hygiene awareness and supplies sanitary pads to girls in rural areas.
In just a few years, SDF has:

Conducted 500+ career sessions
Received the Orange City Icon Award 2023
Earned GiveIndia Bronze certification
SDF runs with the help of volunteers, interns, and community members. Harshal continues to fund and lead the mission while working full-time in banking.
