Prologue
What do eyes truly symbolize? Honesty...deceit, happiness...anger, confidence... fear, love... hate. You can see it all in a single moment of eye contact. It exposes your deepest secrets that your heart conceals even from yourself. Sometimes it even questions your morality. But it all depends on perspective and belief. It's always up to you to change your viewpoint. It's you who holds the right to make decisions at the end of the day. But what if the decision evades you? What if the moment convinces you to choose pain over loss? That's when the game begins. The game of hide and seek where you are forced to be the seeker. A seeker who finds the unknown behind the walls of the heart of a reserved individual. The only difference? There lies a dilemma of choices where you choose to trust words or intuition to know what hides.
But before that... I have a metophorical question. If you had to choose between oxygen and water... what would be your take? Theoretically speaking you would prefer oxygen as it results in death within minutes while water takes days. But it would also mean that you chose a painful way to die where you regret your choices each day you try to quench your thirst. Would that mean you would choose immediate death? However, if you overlook these two choices the only path of convergence is death. But that's not the first thing that came to your mind at the sight of the question, right? You merely thought about survival and pain... not the consequences. That's what distinguishes our sixth sense.
Now... would you side with the protagonist to accept death and deplete limited amount of both oxygen and water or would you choose to use one of the two infinitely, prolonging a specific agony until you face the inevitable end? You might think that the protagonist is wise to utilize both and live for more than just a few days but did you really give a thought about the word "limited'? What if it's just 2 minutes? What if it's less? You never know... you can only wish to alter the ticking clock.
Your choice suggests your will to continue reading this story. Don't forget the "metaphorical" part.
